This is no agenda pod and my Legos and broadcasting live from the heart of Texas Hill Country. Sema region number six in the morning, everybody.
0:21
John: I'm Adam Curry in from Northern Silicon Valley. Hey, we're fogged in again. I bought that I'm Jesse devorah.
0:29
Unknown: buzzkill.
0:33
Adam: Oh man, show day exciting day so much going on. We're all watching Richard. Oh, he didn't died. Dammit. Richard Branson just got back from space.
0:45
John: Oh, yeah.
0:47
Adam: He was doing like a FaceTime from the plane.
0:51
John: Yeah,
0:52
Adam: it looked very much like an ad like a kind of a really dumb Disney ride. Really?
1:01
John: What do you accomplish Richard? billionaires wasted a lot of money. They could have gone to feeding the poor.
1:13
Adam: Actually, I have happened to have two clips about this today. Check this out.
1:18
Unknown: down to the wire as Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic showcases the final prep sports spaceship on Sunday, flying to 50,000 feet before release by
1:29
then rocketing to the Karman line that marks the edge of space. NASA and the Air Force say that line is 50 miles high. Virgin test pilots have already climbed to 56 miles. But now the Bezos team is tweeting that only their rocket will climb 62 miles high, the internationally recognized Karman line and their passenger astronauts won't have an asterisk by their names. And by the way, they have bigger windows to gaze at the earth. Blue Origin uses a rocket Virgin Galactic uses a space plane with 17 windows.
2:04
Adam: They are they're literally complaining about or comparing the features of this this ride. Oh, he got more windows on this one. Oh, you only get an Asterix. If you fly with Branson means that you're not a real Astro not you're a plain tro not. Or something like that.
2:22
John: You know, the rich have done this super rich, we're talking about people that could just throw away a quarter of a million dollars and enjoy right? Yeah, they've got an they've got enough trouble with Warren going after them, you know, for billionaires tax and all the rest, right? You're gonna end up with their heads on a stick if they keep this crap up. There's homeless in San Francisco that are just crawling all over the place and pooping in the streets. These are the same angels they're going to go up in these rockets. I'm telling you this is this is bad publicity for anyone who tastes one of these rides. This is stupid.
2:56
Adam: Do you think there's any climate change issue with these rockets? Do they and there's
3:00
John: that I didn't even consider it
3:02
Adam: just thinking about it for a moment. has to personally that I'd like all billionaires to go in space.
3:09
John: And stay there. Yes.
3:11
Adam: This was a funny report. Those are short one from CNBC. And, and I didn't At first I was like, Whoa, and it took me it's just a really bad prompt to read. But see if you can catch what I caught.
3:21
Unknown: Blue Origin uses a rocket Virgin Galactic uses a space plane with 17 windows. If he was here, he would argue that his experience was better than us. And I can give you lots of reasons why we think our experience is better than his. But they're both valid basis launches on the 20th bringing along one time female NASA astronaut candidate Wally funk. I will say hi, that was the best thing that ever happened. Did you hear that?
3:50
John: One time female.
3:51
Adam: Yeah, that's what I heard. Like, what was there wasn't a transfer or not.
3:56
John: She is only one time female. She's a female one time again. Time URL. You know what?
4:03
Adam: It was Mexico. It was the donkey show. What can I say? bringing along one time female NASA astronaut candidate Wally is one time female NASA candidate astronaut but he's the me punched female. I like what you're bringing one time females. Anyway. But it's Yeah, I think your thesis is right. They're idiots. This is not a good look.
4:28
John: Now really not now with homeless in the streets, they get to this situation this is just let me just take a quarter of a million of my dollars that I could just give to a food bank. And I'm just going to go up to space for five minutes and come back down and check off something off my box or I'm gonna brag about it at the country club. This is not gonna work out for these guys, is it's just not gonna work out. It's just It has nothing but bad news written all over it. And the idea that this is going to become an industry which both brands And basil seemed to think
5:02
Adam: nuts, there's got to be a lot of cash in the system. People just don't know what to do with their money anymore, do they?
5:10
John: Well, there is a lot of cash in the system. And if the government's not helping by pumping in an extra trillion or two Yeah, well, it doesn't seem to be doing any good. Still potholes and at the other day, I was broke the car. While they're pooping in the streets in San Francisco, where's all this money going?
5:28
Adam: Shoot, man. Do we have pooping in the streets? We have a poop in the streets, jingle or something.
5:33
John: pooping in the streets spoofing in the streets. Everybody's pooping on the streets in San Francisco,
5:42
Adam: and then there's nothing better when you're pooping on the streets in San Francisco. called 2018. JOHN Campbell away you put your feet bam, bam, bam.
6:01
here in San Francisco. Okay, that's going in the Indus Shubin think we have to add that to today's mix, don't you?
6:10
John: But, okay.
6:13
Adam: Yeah, so while all that's happening, the technocratic government or administration, I say the technical technocratic Biden administration is just not being bashful. And I appreciate that. I appreciate them just saying what they feel and letting you know right in your face. This is how it's going to go down. And this clip, I think it's surfaced around Fridays. I've here but but shatta Massara Becerra. He's the Health and Human Services Secretary. Now you'd think Health and Human Services Secretary might have a medical background or some kind of some kind of study. It's not a requisite, I guess, but isn't that kind of normal? Or is this just an administrator?
7:04
John: I don't know what's normal.
7:06
Adam: Okay. Well, he was. He's a lawyer. And he worked. He was elected to the California State Assembly. And then I think he was Attorney General. for California. Yeah. Yeah. Vice Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. You know, this is a career politician. And he's from California. So that equals douchebag. And he's now the he's now in charge of all of the health and human services within the government. And he went on and talked about the knocking on doors door to door that President Biden announced to make sure everybody knows where they can get their vaccine. This is trouble is polarizing for American citizens who don't like lists, don't want to be on list don't want to be put on lists. The census is polarizing enough. And here's what he said he's he was just coming out and saying this is how it's going down
8:02
Unknown: and growing concerns over the fast spreading Delta variant. The Biden administration's new efforts to knock on doors to encourage more Americans to get vaccinated is not without criticism from some on the right, Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw tweeting, how about don't knock on my door? You're not my parents, you are the government, make the vaccine available and let people be free to choose? Why is that concept so hard for the left? Arizona congressman Andy Biggs tweeting, it's none of the government's business knowing who has or hasn't been vaccinated. Joining me now is Health and Human Services Secretary Javier Bishara who is helping in this effort to get Americans vaccinated. Sir, thank you so much for being with us. I wonder if you can answer that criticism. It's none of the government's business knowing who has or hasn't been vaccinated. What
8:50
Adam: do you say? Briana,
8:52
Unknown: perhaps we should point out that the federal government is had spent trillions of dollars to try to keep Americans alive during this pandemic. So it is absolutely the government government's business. It is taxpayers business, if you have to continue to spend money to try to keep people from contracting COVID and helping reopen the economy. And so it is our business to try to make sure Americans can prosper Americans can freely associate and knocking on a door has never been against the law. You don't have to answer but we hope you do. Because if you haven't been vaccinated, we can help this help dispel some of those rumors that you've heard, and hopefully get you vaccinated.
9:29
Adam: I like that, hey, yeah, we spent that money on you slaves Shut up. We have every right to know.
9:37
John: It's a pretty funny roundabout way. Well, he went about it was creative answer
9:43
Adam: well, but he went a little bit further. The first he launched something new, which is a variation, a variant of stay safe. And I don't know if if this is you know, these guys, they'll hear a slogan. They'll read a slogan during the meeting. So maybe he's internalize that and there's a twist It
10:00
Unknown: by needs to get behind proof of vaccination starting with his own White House events, a gathering touting the United States progress towards independence from the virus should have been the ideal opportunity to make the case for vaccine requirements. It matters for everyone, including the vaccinated, what's your response to that? Having people say, Yes, I am vaccinated and proving it or at least having them attest to it?
10:25
Well, there are any number of ways to try to continue to make progress. And the President has demonstrated that he is open to moving in any direction we can to help Americans get safe, be safe, feel safe.
10:38
Adam: Get safe, be safe, feel safe. What do you think, gonna be a new one
10:42
John: they're working on kids say, be safe, feel safe, gets a piece? Maybe?
10:47
Adam: What could it could go like this has
10:49
John: a ring to it has a nice, cute, cute ring to it.
10:51
Adam: It could be it could be an answer thing that people do on the street. So you know, I'll say Hey, get safe, be safe, feel safe? And then you reply with stay safe.
11:02
John: That Yeah, works. Try, oh, Heil Hitler.
11:05
Unknown: It's safe, be safe, feel safe. And to continue. Americans access, we're gonna go where you are so that you can get vaccinated. And we'll do everything we can. And what we've done is allowed the state through our governors or mayors and county supervisors to determine how best to approach people in their neighborhoods.
11:25
Adam: All right, so here comes the kicker for me. And this is I think this is Breanna Taylor from CNN. And she keeps talking about Shouldn't you model that? And I'm not quite sure what she means by that in this context, but his answer is what the clip is really about.
11:41
Unknown: So why not model? Why not model that I hear you saying leave it to local leaders leave it to Governor's? Why not at least model how you let people into an event?
11:52
Well, Briana, you heard you read off some of the comments of some representatives in Congress. And the the that particular type of thinking is not, it's out there. And we want to give people a sense that they have the freedom to choose, but we hope hope they choose to live. And we're going to make it possible for them to have a good life. And by the way, protect your family and loved ones at the same time. We hope people make the right choices. We want them to have the right information. But we are America we try to give people as much freedom and choice as possible. Clearly when over 600,000 Americans have died. The best choice is to get vaccinated. We are trying to give
12:32
Adam: you as much freedom as possible. We're America as much as we can get. I think he is God. I mean,
12:44
John: they're granting the American public radio he is ranting as right? Yes.
12:50
Adam: Yes. With his little fairy godmother one just be okay oui oui
12:54
John: oui. Oui. Oui, oui, oui. Yeah.
12:56
Unknown: Cool. People make the right choices. We want them to have the right information. But we are America we try to give people as much we listen, listen, listen.
13:05
John: But we are America we try to give people as much freedom and choice as possible.
13:13
Adam: The Constitution is literally made to restrict the government in restricting our rights. It's not the other way around. But that's the thinking. That's the thinking. We're in charge of these people shall grant them their rights when they can go if you need some rights. Get the vaccine to the door to door thing is it's very exciting. In Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the governor went out and helped knocking on doors from state and
13:44
Unknown: local leaders to promote vaccine accessibility to communities across Rhode Island with low vaccination rates. The target on Wednesday, two housing complexes in one socket families living multi generational, you know, tight quarters, where if someone is COVID positive, it's more likely than not they're gonna pass it on to their other family members at
14:04
the to pop up clinics on Wednesday. Residents could choose between Pfizer or a Johnson and Johnson vaccine even get a free COVID test or box groceries.
14:15
leaders say they'll continue to do these outreach vaccine programs across the state all summer will is to make certain that people get vaccinated but also to let people know that we're all important and
14:29
says nearly 57% of people in the ocean state have been fully vaccinated. We have all the information on our website of where to get your vaccine, just head to ABC six.com.
14:42
Adam: So it's being pushed real hard done at the local level Governor's getting in the game. Maybe that'll motivate some people. I know.
14:49
John: Never heard anything like that out here. Anything like this governor is going to implement anything what we got to high vaccination rates. We've got the lockdown. We started the whole You think California
15:01
Adam: is going to be exempt from the door to door knocking?
15:04
John: Now there won't be a knock knock around here. Okay.
15:09
Adam: I mean, it actually see they seem kind of serious to me.
15:13
John: I think this is just a test. I think it's a test for like, this seems like a test for community policing. The cops aren't going to be coming around knocking on doors. This is to say, Well, you know, we're going to defund the police we're going to put a bunch of social workers are going to be out there doing this and that, let's see if they can just do this. Well, the thing that's getting punched in the face
15:37
Adam: thing that's bothersome is, you know, the scripts floating around and here's how you do it and make sure you mark the person down if they're vaccinated and unvaccinated that's not just giving people information that's that's a census of a medical census. And what
15:53
John: he's come by the door all that you know, but what do you say?
15:56
Adam: Okay, so when they when they come by the door, what do you
15:58
John: tend to get lost?
16:00
Adam: Why wouldn't you just say, stay safe comrade?
16:05
John: Ronnie or Yes, comrade. You got the vaccination?
16:11
Adam: Or I thought, thought Are you vaccinated? Oh, man, we just moved here from Ohio. They already counted me so I would hate to be counted again. I'm already on the record there. I don't know. I
16:25
John: don't really record there, too. They're not coming around your neighborhood either. Okay. This is bull crap. This is not happening. Okay. All right. I mean, yes, in some places like Woonsocket, where they make a big stink and the governor goes out for five minutes for a photo op. And I How you doing? I'm your governor, you get vaccinated though. We have a Pfizer shot here for you if you don't get my rock. And that's No.
16:50
Adam: Well, the M five M is also ratcheting up their propaganda. And of course, we need to target the black and brown communities. They're the ones that need the most hesitant Well, just before you continue.
17:04
John: If somebody does come around, I've got the h4 ready, I'm going to interview them. Okay, deal. Deal deal can do the same. Okay, ask them how long they've had the job what they're getting paid. Here's the thing. We know how long they had the job. What they
17:22
Adam: did was write this down. Everybody can do this. It's not just you and me. We've got 1000s of producers who will be
17:28
John: where they have an h4 or an h2 or an h1
17:31
Adam: or iPhone who gives a crap just use an iPhone. That's fine. Or your seifa your doesn't matter.
17:36
John: Yeah, no one pros use the iPhone four. What
17:39
Adam: are you talking about Boomer?
17:42
John: think in terms of phones. But I'm off the grid man. So yeah, yes, the gay here's what Okay, let's go with the questions right now. All right.
17:53
Unknown: One.
17:53
Adam: Have you have you had the vaccination? First question. First of all,
17:57
John: you make note of how many people there are visit one, two or three? Yeah. I doubt. Yes, one. There you go. I didn't think of that one. Have you had the vaccine? Yes.
18:07
Adam: Why aren't you wearing a mask?
18:10
John: Okay, why aren't you wearing a man if they're wearing a whole lot of stopstopstop? This is wrong. You can't start off with these sorts of questions because it sounds like just combat if you have to start off with easy questions that don't Well, how about
18:22
Adam: this? Could you please show me your papers?
18:26
John: Oh, that's a great one. Yes. Can you show me your document?
18:30
Adam: No. Show me your papers.
18:34
John: Again, I don't think it's good to be combative at the beginning. Okay. Okay. Ask them to see the documents and then ask them how long they've been working there. You're just wondering, and you're just wondering, because you have a podcast, just all the producers have a podcast ours. I have a podcast. So we want to know a couple of things. How old are you? How long have you been working for this age? What agency is this you're working for? And how much are they paying yet? This is really and then get the payment thing? Tell them it's important because you're probably being underpaid. You want it? Yes. No?
19:06
Adam: Yes. Yes. Yes. underpaid. Oh, good. One good one.
19:09
John: I like you're definitely being underpaid. Heavy, then you can go into the other questions. How many people Oh, no way. Before we do that. Ask around how many people have had the vaccine? Do you think maybe half or more? What kind of response Have you been getting from the door? People If you answer the door, they tell you to get lost or what gives them some little insight? And then from there, you can ask him some more. Have you had the vaccine? Where's your mask? Where's your blue gloves? Blue gloves?
19:44
Adam: I love that. Huh? Well, I just want to put in the show notes. I just want to reiterate, since mandatory vaccinations and are cropping up again. And there's this meme, which To my knowledge, even constitutional lawyer does which holds on to that the is that the jurisprudence of mandatory vaccinations was settled in the Jacobson versus Commonwealth of Massachusetts lawsuit which went all the way to the Supreme Supreme Court, where this guy said, Look, I was sick from this vaccine. Six months ago, his son had already had it, and he had had bad reactions, and they didn't want to take it. And Massachusetts took them to court and the Supreme Court upheld that he had no right to deny the vaccination. And that's where the that's where the analysis of that particular case ends. But that's not the final story. Because Jacobs had never had to get another injection. He only had to pay a fine of $5, which was a lot then it was like a week's worth of wages. But that's all he had to do. And at that time, case, law, like not allowed the unvaccinated people to walk around freely and interact with whomever they chose. So if if you want to make
21:06
John: this was during when,
21:08
Adam: oh, this was 18 this was I'm sorry, night. This is after the after this, the Spanish Flu I think,
21:17
John: couldn't have been no Spanish Flu had no vaccine. No, no, I'm
21:20
Adam: sorry. Hold on. What was this vaccination? It was maybe smallpox, they had
21:24
John: to be maybe smallpox was smallpox. But that would go into the 1800s. Okay,
21:29
Adam: yeah. And of 1800s. But if you're going to mandate vaccines, then you have to also I think that was that was the point of it. You also have to then start picking people up. You got to get him off the street. If you're going to mandate vaccines, and you can't have anyone unvaccinated walking around, which is where the stars come back into play. The yellow stars. So we'll see. We'll see. But it's very sad that people believe that. That's the law or that's the jurisprudence. Anyway, anyway, vaccine propaganda Robin from she's today's show. Right. And VC, Robin?
22:10
John: I believe so.
22:10
Adam: Yeah. So she's continuing with her Pfizer sponsored podcast.
22:16
John: I'm host Robin Roberts. And in COVID-19, immunity in our community, a new podcast series, she ABC, I think she might be
22:24
Unknown: from I Heart Radio, and the US Department of Health and Human Services. We're going to hear from Americans on the front lines, many of whom were uncertain about the vaccines and the facts that convinced them to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated. We sat down with Heather Simpson, a mother who used to be part of the anti vaccine community,
22:43
you are going to talk to a vaccine hesitant person or an anti vaxxer. Just keep in mind that they are terrified. They truly believe what they believe. And when I got a ton of hate as an anti vaxxer, that just strengthened my platform. And I believed Oh, I got Haley. I mean, somebody
23:03
listened to COVID-19 immunity in our community on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts, we can do this.
23:15
John: I love the community. I like it. The anti Vax community
23:19
Adam: is a community of people in the community. It's a great time in our little community. Over on MSNBC, they just take it to the next logical, confused conclusion that anti vaxxers are in fact, inherent racist.
23:32
Unknown: I've asked you I mean, there's still so many conspiracy theorists out there. And I'm like, increasingly disconcerted by some of the people who are sharing these big boy from OutKast just shared a video from an older black woman saying, you know, don't get the vaccine. The second gentleman dug him off was at a barber shop in Chicago, and someone said to him, ain't nothing but make me take that unless my life is on the line, and you want to scream, your life is on the line, how can we penetrate some of these communities because you've got the anti vaxxer communities and then you have, you know, some pockets of African Americans because of long distressful history with the medical community. What do we have to do at this point, we have to understand the various factors that implicate or influence human behavior. I'm going to make this very plain, I don't have any tolerance for the anti vaxxer movement. And I don't have any colorants, for politicians who befriend who cozy up to or become allies of that movement. I actually see that as another example of the proliferation of bias,
24:34
Adam: creep. Oh, she's the msnbc doctor. She's the dentist and I'm sorry, the msnbc black segment, Dr.
24:41
Unknown: movement. I actually see that as another example of the proliferation of white supremacy, because
24:48
they are targeting communities of color, and they are targeting the historical injustices, the atrocities that communities of color have experienced as a way to play on vulnerabilities.
25:02
Adam: Just love it.
25:03
John: It's the black community doing that more than the white guess.
25:07
Unknown: Exactly.
25:08
John: Are you kidding? She's full of shit. That woman,
25:11
Adam: the biggest anti? I mean, how do you think black Americans feel about this crap when they hear that? I mean, that's just what are you talking about?
25:21
John: Now they can't be happy. I only have two COVID clips. I have one schools and the Pfizer this a PBS report. That's kind of interesting because they slip in promotional material for Pfizer, it seems to me,
25:37
Unknown: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today encourage schools to reopen fully now that students as young as 12 are getting vaccinated and that deaths are declining. It also said that fully vaccinated teachers and students do not need to wear masks while in school. Meanwhile, the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration said fully immunized Americans do not currently need a booster shot. That comes after Pfizer announced plans to seek approval for one in the next month.
26:08
John: Yeah, this was a slap down.
26:10
Adam: Oh, yeah. And it happened everywhere. Hear cnn baiser also really being criticized for kind of not reading the room here.
26:18
Unknown: The main problem really the only problem with the US vaccine rollout is that 1/3 of Americans who are eligible to get the vaccine don't want it. They're not getting it. So for Pfizer to come out and say, Oh, we think are two shots that there's waning immunity, that just gives those people the opportunity to see to say, Hi, I told you this shot wasn't so good. I told you this didn't really work. That's exactly the opposite of what we want to be doing right now.
26:44
Adam: Now, it's one thing for news our to do that it's another for CNN for CNN to do this.
26:52
John: Well, here. Here's remember, Pfizer's screwed up once before marriage, it just goes back to March, April of last year. And we talked about to some extreme extreme where they had I think they had started bad mouthing the mRNA vaccine from Madonna to a point that it made their vaccine look bad. Oh, yeah, it was some screw up. And it was a marketing error. And this is the same thing. This is the second time that Pfizer has made a marketing blunder. Well,
27:26
Adam: the way I read it, the marketing blunder is very simple. They only paid the mainstream media for two shots, and now they just want to slip in a third with FDA approval. You got to up that budget, son.
27:41
John: But if that's that element is in play. I'm not going to argue that
27:46
Adam: wolf blitzer drilled and drilled St. Anthony Fauci about it,
27:52
Unknown: the former Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Jerome Adams, man you worked with, you know him well, he tells CNN today that the lack of coordination between the federal government and vaccine companies, he says it's troubling. The bottom line question is, why are all of you on the same page? Yeah, you know, same page,
28:14
it was one of those facts of life is that they came out with the announcement without giving us a heads up.
28:21
And quite frankly, that
28:22
John: being on the same page,
28:23
Adam: it's not it's exactly not it was just one of those facts of life broth, the same page. It was one of those facts of life, is that they came out with the announcement without sleeping. What do you think he means? It's just a fact of life.
28:41
John: It's a fact of life that Pfizer sent out an announcement
28:44
Adam: what that means Shut the fuck up broth.
28:50
John: Oh, is this in any way, a fact of life? What an idiot. It was one of those
29:00
Unknown: is that they came out with the announcement without giving us a heads up. And quite frankly, the CEO who's a really good guy got on the phone with me last night. And
29:09
Adam: I said, holy crap, bro. I fucked it up for that they came out with that recommendation. So there is no, no. So it's all good because the CEO who's a good guy called Anthony said, Dude, I'm so sorry. I'm embro. I mean,
29:25
John: it's alright man happens factor number four. No, he said, Okay, I'll cover for you. Exactly. That. Okay, go take a bullet with that recommendation. So
29:35
Unknown: there is no not that apologize about the recommendation. apologize for not letting us know that ahead of time. He's really, you know, a good person. And he meant that sincerely. Wow.
29:48
Adam: I mean, seriously, that's the level you're gonna go seeing me gets better. Because this is about the boosters and remember,
29:57
Unknown: with very determination to go ahead with this recommendation, seeking emergency use authorization. I know you had this conversation with the CEO. Was it simply based on that study that the Israeli Ministry of Health put out?
30:11
Yeah, it was based on a couple of things, one of them and the main thing was the data that we heard about last week, from the demit, what appeared to be a diminution in efficacy of preventing initial infection, the important bottom line,
30:26
Adam: I love how it's like, Okay, I'm gonna use some words that the typical cnn viewer won't understand. In other words, it started the data showed that it sucked
30:35
Unknown: in efficacy of preventing initial infection. The important bottom line in all of this will, is that the efficacy against severe disease, particularly hospitalization, that might lead to death in some individuals, was still really very good within the 90%. That's the important aspect of this.
30:57
Adam: Okay, nice, nice little trick. So no longer is it. It keeps you safe, you won't get the virus maybe maybe not even that just like hey, if you get the virus because this thing doesn't seem to work so well. At least you won't die, we kind of think and 90%
31:15
John: is less than what you'd get from just getting the virus without the vaccine By the way, there you go. 99.97 chance chances point oh, 3% of dying
31:24
Adam: now NBC i think i think they did anticipate this was coming and they did get the you know, they had sales go out and say okay, third thing, so let's take care of it. And you know, package deal. I'm sorry, look, you blew your chance. You could have done for four to two shots and a booster, but you were cheapskates. You just took the option for two and now you want three so Okay, good sign here tonight.
31:49
Unknown: Pfizer says a booster shot a third dose of its current vaccine could offer Americans five to 10 times more protection against COVID. Given six months after the second dose, Pfizer believes those inoculated would be highly protected against the Delta variant, which is now exploding across the EU. The company expects to deliver new data to the FDA
32:13
Adam: within weeks and is also working to develop a Delta specific version of its vaccine. Wow. exploding. It's exploding over the US epic
32:25
John: version. Yep. Yep. So guys are shameless but you're right, NBC got bought or they finally got the buy they're looking for
32:33
Adam: now it's looking like CNN has shitty sales people because ABC also
32:38
Unknown: got the buy drugmaker Pfizer, we're hearing that they're also now saying that they've got a third dose, that booster shot we've been talking about how ever the CDC and the FDA are saying, hey, not so fast. It Thema the day in terms of COVID coming out of our government agencies and Big Pharma confusion. And this is the first example so late yesterday Pfizer released some encouraging data they've been testing as we know what third dose a booster dose, they have found that it provides strong and sustained immune protection when given six to 12 months after the second dose. Basically, their philosophy their data saying two doses is good. three doses even
33:19
Adam: their philosophy bullcrap. And then she follows up with their data, I mean their data,
33:24
Unknown: basically their philosophy, their data saying two doses is good three doses even better, but as you said, me and TJ are even better than that
33:33
John: you know what a six dose doses da and CD
33:39
Unknown: in the brakes at this point saying we're not there yet. We don't even know if a booster will be necessary it may be and if it is we don't know when at this time it's premature to say a booster is gonna be great
33:55
Adam: he made your joke he made your joke
33:58
John: What was it that was it?
33:59
Adam: Oh my god you stepped on on the
34:02
Unknown: necessary it may be an if it is we don't know when at this time it's premature to say everyone will need a booster is better before it's going to be great. Bye
34:11
Adam: bye
34:13
John: guys material made the joke it's funny now I think they I think they've I think the top dogs over there at Pfizer quit I think they've they've made their bonuses and they've walked in so we're starting to see these scripts because I think the one they can go with and they and we only heard about in a couple of shows to go I had one example and I think I've heard a couple others but it's it's fallen by the wayside. Is the top off. sales pitch.
34:42
Adam: Oh the top top, top, top up top up.
34:47
John: Top up or top off?
34:48
Adam: Well in the UK they say top up in the Europe I think in general here we would say top off but yeah,
34:54
John: they've been talking about it should I top or at least the guy from from chatter news or if you You're one of
35:00
Adam: these one of these great channels, yes. Great channels.
35:04
John: He says, should I top off my j&j vaccine with a Pfizer shot? And of course, as we know, if we go back and I did, the clip show I'm going to end up doing for all the early days is going to indicate No, don't mix these vaccines. The mix and match is my favorite. Bad mix and match is one thing. But the the I still think the top off idea was something they could have gone with. But as you recall, back in March and April, yeah, as I've said many times on the show, especially today, they made they went on and on about how you can't mix and match.
35:43
Adam: Yes, it was it was.
35:46
John: I thought they could go because it was being accepted by these douchebags at these lesser news channels. And they were even bringing it up as though it was on a script. Gee, I wonder. They used to be a big deal. Don't Don't mix and match domains in match. Oh, yeah.
36:05
Adam: And now they're even saying it's a good idea if you had the Madonna Pfizer to get a j&j and vice versa. I haven't heard that one. Oh, in the UK, or in the in Europe. If you can get one, if you can get all three is great.
36:19
John: Three means that none of them work.
36:25
Adam: Well, gotta get all three. Well, they're doing something. You know, I was beating myself up. The one thing I forgot to bring up to Joe Rogan when I was on the show recently is Auster, osterholm. The guy that I met the first time I went on a show in March of 2020, because that guy, I mean, he really kicked out to me, he kicked off a lot of fear mongering, and I mentioned it to Joe, after we were done. He said, you know, holy crap out him. Like that really rattled a lot of people. And it just sent so many people into a tailspin. And it wasn't appropriate for me to ask, Well, how the hell did he get on the show? How did he get booked? Why Who does that? why did why was this guy coming in to just fearmonger and, of course, never called to account. And even though he doesn't appear on television that much anymore, he must be freelancing or some kind of side hustle. He's got this podcast, the Oesterle home update.
37:26
John: To go listen to that.
37:27
Adam: Sit down and get ready. Here's a few clips. What we're seeing really is an urban suburban community split. And what I mean by that is racism. If you look at the rate of new daily cases, they fallen below three per 100,000 residents and large cities like Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington DC. You say if you're in those locations, the pandemics over however, but in less populated areas, but nonetheless very diverse throughout the country. Areas that tend to be more politically conservative and skeptical of vaccines. The virus is larger from the Delta variant to states with the worst outbreaks that I just mentioned, Arkansas and Missouri, each with more than 16 new daily cases per 100,000, followed by Florida 10, Nevada 10, Wyoming nine and Utah eight per 100,000 cases. And it just kept going. I just want to add what I think is really a remarkable number. This should hopefully give all of us reason to believe that the vaccines are answered. If you look at what we're seeing in terms of number of deaths in this country. If you look for the month of May, the latest data we have from the CDC. And well before the Delta variant took off, only about 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID deaths in May. We're in fully vaccinated people are less than 1%. That translates to about five deaths per day attributed to fully vaccinated Americans experience from breakthrough infections, particularly in the
39:05
older population. But that compares to 300 deaths per day in the unvaccinated population
39:12
John: a second. My listening to these guys go on and on and on. If nothing else, the vaccine keeps you from getting killed. How does he getting five deaths a day from people who are fully vaccinated? Well, I was under the impression listening to Fauci that did there's no chance of getting killed by this disease. If you are vaccinated. It was that's what the vaccine does. You can still get the disease but you're not going to end up in a hospital.
39:41
Adam: Well, it's interesting you bring that up because there is something very strange is going on. In Okay, so in different countries, polar opposite things are taking place in the Netherlands. they've they've now just the governor And the Prime Minister the big speech like oh, well cases arising amongst young people recall that two weeks ago, it was Go go go go to your bars the UK did this is ready to do the same thing, go to your bars, go hang out, go have a good time. You know, pieces here, we're good to go. And everybody started rocking and rolling, I was really happy. I was sure they were, you know, many bars, you had to show either net, you know, QR code negative test, which of course was gained immediately. There's no real check, no one cares it just like partying and then the Delta variant, the hammer comes down. and I were talking about the crime, the criminal ridden country of the Netherlands, you can do a lot to the Dutch, but you do not touch their dance festivals and you do not touch their drugs. That's when you make a mistake. And so all these huge festivals like low lands and the the big one the big white party in the in the arena, which is 50,000 people, these are events the Dutch look forward to for the entire year. And they're being told it's impossible new restrictions, everything closes at midnight, you have to have one and a half meter distance between people, which means any facility that's open before that pretty much can only do a third of their
41:23
occupancy. So that is now ruined completely bankrupted clubs, events, and now people are getting angry. But in over in the UK. It's like no, no, no, no, no, no, it's okay. We're just gonna go completely all in and here's it this is actually the transport minister, Grant Shapps. This is indirect sound. So you got to focus for a second but odd things are being said
41:53
Unknown: about this. Good morning. God chaps. Morning. Morning. Would you please explain the evidence that you've looked at the pic to make this decision?
42:01
Yeah, we know that double vaccinated fully vaccinated people are much more likely to get and also carry the Coronavirus. So there comes a point where, you know, there's a balance to be made by allowing people to see that friends and family or even go on holidays to countries which are in the amber category, which are the vast majority of countries in the world. And that's where we've got to based on the advice of the chief medical officer and others.
42:30
Adam: So they're saying, Yeah, we know people who are vaccinated get Coronavirus, more often. I mean, what is going on? This is like up is down left is right into the eye which is good. And I don't think that was a gap. I think he absolutely means this.
42:49
John: I couldn't hear what he said.
42:51
Adam: Unless you but he said that we know that vaccinated people
42:54
John: get I said double vaccinate double vaccinated people. Yeah. What does double vaccinated mean? That mean you get to two Pfizer shots. I mean, you got Pfizer and Madonna and you get it, then you got j&j and you got AstraZeneca that'd be quadruple vaccinated.
43:08
Adam: It's so nuts right now that it could be any of what you just said all of all of the above. It's completely insane.
43:17
John: Well, the insanity continues with the new usages. I have one last clip. And I want you to tell me if you can spot the while I'm going to give it away by telling you this. This saved or created.
43:34
Adam: He didn't have to give that away. I would have caught that from anywhere.
43:38
John: That it's not it's some they got a new one. It's a new one. It's not saving. But listen to this was COVID new use new use
43:44
Unknown: the CDC is guidance for schools to fully reopen this fall and to allow fully vaccinated students to go without masks is yet another sign of how the US is shifting its approach to the COVID pandemic. But even as the push for regular routines grow. The Delta variant presents its own risks, especially to those who aren't vaccinated. Some states in the south and the Midwest have low vaccination rates. Stephanie sigh looks at one dealing with a spike in cases Missouri.
44:16
Duty Missouri is one of those states where the Delta strain is leading to a rise in cases it's among the top five states when it comes to new cases and hospitalizations. Missouri has reported nearly 7600 newly confirmed or probable cases on the past week.
44:36
Adam: Shut up then lady don't bury the lead like that. That's horrible. Listen to this. This is the guardian. And the Guardian has this headline. why most people who now die with COVID in England are ones who had a vaccination. Wouldn't you like to know what Yes, I'm telling you. There's something weird going on again. why most people who now die with COVID in England have had a vaccination. And they summarize the article right at the top. Don't think of this as a bad sign. It's exactly what's expected from an effective but in perfect jab.
45:18
John: It's what's expected.
45:19
Adam: That's exactly what is read it again, don't think of this as a bad sign. It's exactly what's expected from an effective but in perfect jab.
45:30
John: This is weird and tell me Oh, by the way, I might add the clip I played. Just somebody may have missed it. But they're using our probable as a, you get the probable it means they had the flu. So what do I see it
45:45
Adam: there or maybe just a false positive? It could be a million fish could be any of them but fine on don't know, maybe they do maybe the amount of, of grift going on with this advertising money that's coming from Pfizer and the other drug makers did this as it starts to Peter out, they're starting to the media has decided to put the screws to him, maybe. But then here's the but here's. But here's the next thing. That's weird. Now, over the weekend, a screenshot appeared from the times. So the UK the times, which is a serious newspaper. And it said COVID passports will be mandatory in pubs, clubs and restaurants. And it was a screenshot and I'm looking at BBC I'm looking at, I'm trying to find any evidence This is real, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. I can't even find it on their website. So I'm like this is fake. But then the Evening Standard comes out, not the same level of publication. But they they're reporting on it by saying COVID certificates will be needed to enter pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs, under plans to stave off a fourth wave of the virus in the autumn. It has been reported. So they're reporting on that report.
47:02
John: They're probably reporting on the fake screen. Yeah,
47:05
Adam: that's what I think is happening.
47:07
John: That does happen. These guys get suckered. I mean, this is the classic example, where a newspaper falls for an internet hoax. Yes. And then they Bri Oh, sorry, internet hoax. They put a little clarification on page 40.
47:24
Adam: But let's now talk about Australia, in particular Sydney. So they have a couple 100 cases I think one or two people died. This they are locking them down tighter than dogs in a cage. It is tighter than Trump locks up kids in cages, say whatever you want. This is it's it's crazy. Now this is a report where the voiceover says something interesting,
47:55
John: the most minimal of symptoms get tested. Today is the first full day the New World Order. Outdoor gatherings are limited to two people exercise is allowed but no further than a 10 kilometer radius from your home browsing and sharps is not permitted. Only one person per household may leave to do a central shopping. And from tomorrow, funerals are limited to 10 people and the length of this lockdown is up to each and every one of us. Steve has had 10 years first.
48:25
Adam: So you notice a little new war world order he throws
48:27
John: in there at the beginning. I could barely hear that clip that was very somebody recording with a radio shack mic off of a TV set.
48:36
Adam: He well what happens? I mean, these are not producer clips, what happens is people catch something on their phone. You can't always find everything on YouTube or bit shoot, you know, so it's
48:46
John: no but it's it doesn't help me if I can't understand a word of it.
48:50
Adam: Well, I'll just play that one relevant bit again. You'll hear it today is the first full day of the New World Order. Today's the first day of the New World Order.
48:59
John: Yeah, then we have a new I think we had a new world order clip last show too.
49:02
Adam: Yeah. So I asked. I asked a buddy who's in Australia. He's left leaning, I would say I'm sure he's had been vaccinated and and loves it all. But he asked, Is this really happening? Are you being locked down like this? And he says, Yes. That's happening in Sydney. The government is trying to stop the virus from spreading same happened in Melbourne last year. Yeah, I know. We followed that. But then here's here's how it runs. Scott Morrison fucked up the vaccination program here. So they're
49:34
John: blaming you must be a conservative, the prime
49:36
Adam: the Prime Minister,
49:38
John: or the Prime Minister? Yes. Yeah.
49:40
Adam: Which is the same thing they did in Melbourne. Oh, would they blame it? There's like, they will not accept that. It is impossible to stop any kind of spread of this. It's always someone's fault. Then it was the it was the people at the COVID Hotel who were having sex with the people who are supposed to be quarantining. That was their fault.
50:00
John: Yes a lot of weird finger pointing but it's usually aimed at is usually targeting a certain element is like the targeting of the south and Missouri now Yes, like, you know, a bunch of Republicans are not getting the vaccine is their fault that's why we're still having trouble because of these bastards that's why and the biggest example is balsa narrow being blamed for everything we know they're trying to get rid of that guy.
50:26
Adam: So we need to go and see what the marketing is. Let's go to tick tock This is interesting. This tick talker
50:34
Unknown: has shingles warning Tick tock, just a quick update still got a lot of blisters
50:41
Adam: showing it which is quite disgusting, but back.
50:44
Unknown: But I had an interesting phone call. I called HS which is Alberta Health and Safety. I'm from Alberta. So I called HS on their 811 number. to file a report My doctor told me to file a report that it could be an adverse effect to the COVID vaccine. I filed our I call the 811. And I file the report and the lady on there. The nurse or whoever's on the end of it tells me Yeah, we've heard a few of these cases. It shouldn't be life threatening or whatever. Use cortisone cream, take your prescription, which is what I have been doing. I have Corazon green home I use every day, twice a day. And I have a prescription that my doctor gave me. But it was interesting to hear her say that I'm not the only ones that I asked her why we're not being told about it. And she said to create less vaccine hesitancy
51:33
Adam: so obviously that got taken down, or at least haven't seen it return.
51:39
John: got taken down Heaven forbid but but another words did he ever say which vaccine it was that causes shingles outbreak? No,
51:47
Adam: but I think it's Astra, well, what is in isn't AstraZeneca in Canada, I think it's AstraZeneca but but team Halo the real team Halo on Tick tock, they now have a new message the same the same. Now these are tick talkers who have been promoting vaccination now and they're singing it. So before you say I can't hear it.
52:09
John: I'm gonna say it again. Yeah,
52:10
Adam: you will. This one is actually Whitney is actually kind of hard to hear, but it's worse. Well, it's not the sound quality so the singing but the the crux of it is, Well listen, don't
52:20
John: go running. Don't go cycling. Please don't go swimming, lifting after you're seen by the trail walking. Awesome searching goes if you don't want a cardiac arrest, you better be listening.
52:34
Adam: So don't go swimming, don't go running. Don't go lifting weights. No extraneous axis exercise for up to a week after your shots. Otherwise you might get a heart attack which is now official documentation that people are handed when they not everywhere but are being handed after receiving the vaccines. And that brings
53:01
John: me they've gotten it silenced by that point.
53:03
Adam: Well and this brings me to one of a trusted producer. She sent us many good things in the past. I've been around the show for a long time in the morning so I have two friends who work as stewardesses that would be flight attendants for southwest and I spent a rather long night last night drinking with them. They broke dropped a weird piece of information I want to pass on do you remember about a month a month ago when Southwest suddenly canceled a ton of flights. Now we got analysis that it was their computer system and it was antiquated and there was lots of stuff wrong with it. She says I thought it was a hacking thing. It turns out they had no pilots all their pilots had been vaccinated and quite a few of them started showing blood clots believed to be a combination of the vaccine and altitude thrombosis boo altitude problems. Yes. So I said I will pay for another night of drinking. If you can see if they have any friends at American Airlines you remember American said up July we got to cancel hundreds of flights. You know we were a little too enthusiastic. This
54:10
John: is this is the best thing you've This is good. And British
54:14
Adam: Airways really good british airways. There were four pilots who were three at least we talked about who died is very close to each other and there was a lot of talk which went away about the same situation that a lot of British Airways pilots they all got vaccinated around the same time and people were having a probably just unexpected taking longer to recover. But yeah, the thrombosis at altitude that's a real thing. You can get that without having a vaccine. You don't need any of that. You can you can run into trouble. So
54:49
John: Wow. Yeah, well, that's frightening.
54:52
Adam: The last thing that would
54:53
John: account for some of these unexplained you know, all of a sudden these flights have been canceled. There's a there are people there. I just was on the news recently somebody bitching about their flight being canceled. They couldn't go anywhere.
55:07
Adam: Yeah. So the word is out the window
55:11
John: is going to be somebody is going to write is not going to be me. But somebody is going to write a tremendously fabulous book about this. Oh, not just one v. ASCO is a fiasco,
55:22
Adam: not just Well, I think we can do the audio version, what you're working on is doing
55:26
John: the audio version. They give us our material.
55:29
Adam: No. Aren't you putting that together? Aren't you putting together a whole retrospective of this this? Or did I misunderstand? No, I'm doing a clip show of the of the beginnings. Oh, just not a retrospective would be the whole story. Yeah. The beginnings are more interesting because you go to the beginnings you start to see these things that are being violated this crazy yeah, it's like crazy stuff. And I mean, the it's just different. It's so different in what you because we've forgotten it. We've been eased out of the beginnings into this new bull crap. But a retrospective of the whole thing might be might be hard. The UK fact check network truth is Information Network. What are the fact checkers have done a fact check on something we discussed, which is the Nuremberg Code regarding medical experimentation, and they have a fact check. I checked false. Nuremberg Code from World War Two has nothing to do with Coronavirus despite bogus claims.
56:36
John: Yes, I saw this to this very funny,
56:39
Adam: I still read the partner piece, based on expert opinion, for fact concluded that the Nuremberg Code would only be relevant at the research trial stage of a vaccines development, not its rollout to the general public. But even then, experts told us they felt it would not be an appropriate link to draw. It's right that medical ethics should be highly scrutinized, especially in cases like the COVID-19 vaccine rollout where the process has been accelerated. However, it's important not to mix up the atrocities of the past with current debates about medicine and policy. In other words, don't Heil Hitler me.
57:21
John: Don't mix up the atrocities of the past with the atrocities of the Caribbean.
57:26
Adam: They go That's the truth. I
57:29
John: boil it down.
57:30
Adam: That's the truth right there. I love how they say it's really only for the trial period. Well, isn't emergency use authorization still the trial period?
57:40
John: Because emergency that's the kicker? To make it mandatory or force people to get in an experimental? technically an experimental product like this is violation of the code. I mean, come on. Why are they trying to cover this up? Because they don't want to be hung?
58:00
Adam: Is that is that still on a job? Then I have? No Have you received this note or not? since you brought up exosomes? A lot of people respond. Have you gotten any good responses to exosomes? No, really? No. Huh? Well, one of our producers had an interesting experience. his buddy had had a had that full, fully vaccinated, although he didn't feel well. They were supposed to go out and, and and, you know, drag around and his 500 horsepower Mustang and
58:36
John: oh, yeah, I got this note, right. It's very Yeah, there's a pertinent part in the middle of it, they're gonna read. So
58:43
Adam: this is the weird twist. He says my friend had been feeling under the weather because he had a second job of Pfizer Vax, just the day before he said that he'd been feeling sick for about two weeks, which is when he had got the first job. He said he had the typical massive headache, feeling like he had no energy and slightly plugged up nicely, which was none of these side effects that Bill Gates talked about. We went for a ride saw some other hot rods on the freeway race, little life little etc, etc, etc. He said he was in the car for about 45 minutes total after it and he sat in the garage having a beer for about another hour, so just be yessing and he headed home and crawled into bed. Now here's where it gets interesting. That night, I had some strange dreams that I would like an akin to when I quit smoking. I once I quit with the patch and once fell asleep with a patch on or twice fell asleep with the patch on which led to psychotic like very vivid, vivid dreams. But these were a tad different. These dreams were much more sexual in nature, and apparently arouse me in my sleep, and apparently arouse me in my sleep to the point of nocturnal emission. This might not seem weird, but I have not had one of these for close to 30 years. I'm approaching 50 and I do not have any issues like Ed but I'm certainly not as active in the bed as I used to be. I thought maybe it was medication that I'm on but it only happened one time, and it's not happened since well, like
1:00:00
Continue to take all the muck and medication I was taking when this happened thinking through it the only conclusion that I can come to is that this was a result of sitting close to someone that had gotten the vaccine for an extended period of time
1:00:13
John: Yeah, exosomes
1:00:15
Adam: bless them six ohms is what that is.
1:00:18
John: Well I love it What the hell happened dad guy? But yeah, I was thinking about this because you're grilling me which I think and now when I go to the into the public, especially around here where it was got the Vax I'm wearing my mask.
1:00:37
Adam: This is where it gets to is like, I'm not so sure. Well,
1:00:40
John: the mask of course I'm worried about flying because I'm worried about sitting next to somebody who's had the vaccine and they get they're exuding exosomes and I you know get a bunch of these spike proteins all over me in my system and I got to like deal with it with bad dreams is just I don't know.
1:00:58
Adam: I don't think worse I don't think the mask is going to protect you from the exosome I hope it does. Now did you see our other producers who sent us the magnetic brass key video
1:01:10
John: you know you said you sent me a note on this I didn't know what I I looked at I go through all your email. I saw this one I said I'm not even opening it.
1:01:21
Adam: Dude you know you missed something good.
1:01:25
John: I'll go back and look at it but
1:01:27
Adam: it's even address Okay, john, this has bugged me enough IE brass keys aren't magnetic that I forced my wife to get Vax This is now here's a producer. This is someone who cares about the show. Just take someone you love and stick him with the jabs for a test for science for the show for the show. In this video that I just shot today My wife is freshly vacs 48 hours ago and of course the brass key sticks to her arm so I grabbed the magnet and a paperclip to show that it also sticks the part you can't see is you can actually feel a pull and a push from the area where she was Vax
1:02:03
John: This is what all the videos there's a lot of videos that show this and it's always the guy doing the testing the guy holding the key or the whatever it is. This is why you can feel it pulling you can feel it pulling it apart. It's almost like a I'm considering this mass hysteria personally like it people should look up the June bugs situation where Wow,
1:02:26
Adam: that's that's an interesting one. That's an interesting one. It's certainly not with everybody and and the fact that this happens with bras that just it can't be it can't be magnet can't be magnetism it has to be some kind of alien technology. Get it? is anti gravitational I
1:02:48
John: argue against that. For sure
1:02:51
Adam: when you see if you like this is anti gravitational stuff in here.
1:02:58
John: I can feel it pulling I can feel it pull.
1:03:00
Adam: Yeah, I mean almost want to get a jet. You know what? I should force someone I know.
1:03:06
John: Look, no, don't get a shot again. I have to get shot. Yeah, right. This guy did.
1:03:13
Adam: Yeah, I don't think that doesn't sound like a friendly idea.
1:03:17
John: At all.
1:03:19
Unknown: Um,
1:03:21
Adam: all right, then I can wind it up. I think unless you have anything else.
1:03:26
John: No, I only had my I only had two COVID clips. I can wind
1:03:29
Adam: it up with my hate clip, which is relevant today.
1:03:32
John: I keep forgetting to get a good hate clip.
1:03:35
Adam: Well, I mean, it's tough because you got to listen to stuff that you hate. Yes, that's how it works. And this is the liberal intellectual elites of the pivot podcast. That's my new acronym by the way liberal intellectual elites. This is where you say gee, that's a genius would go you know, I would go
1:04:01
John: I mean, I wouldn't like it the word progressive in there
1:04:03
Adam: but it's lie which is lie. I kind of like it. Oh, okay. So got it. liberal use that liberal into intellectual elites, Kara Swisher and Professor Galloway, who individually Galloway does say some very smart things, isn't he? He's not dumb. And he has the right idea about a lot of a lot of things. But man, Kara Swisher is she's just off the rails. So they've now now their producer was hired away. To go work for I think Spotify to be in charge of all podcasts and or no, it's going to be running the the Obama No, the Harry and Megan podcasts are with with Oprah. And she's going to be producing that and so that's a big move up. Yeah.
1:04:57
John: What kind of material are we going to get from them? Who the hell cares?
1:05:02
Adam: Look at who they hired to produce it, I can tell you exactly what you're going to get from that. Hello. But then, of course, what they do now they've lost their producer, I'm sure they knew this, they got a new producer, they immediately start doing new things, which is dum dum dum dum. It's not what you do. But it was great, great for the hate clip section. They decided to do a what was a win and what was a loss or was great and what was bad about certain topics, and COVID they both weighed in on what was really the win and what was really the loser of the whole COVID experience which they for them, it's over. They have no problem. They're, you know, they're both very wealthy multimillionaires. Even in fact, in this episode, Kara Swisher said I still have 10 or 100 Bitcoin I this somewhere I don't care. So anyone who talks like that is rich is rich. Don't care.
1:05:56
So here we go. We talked about it in
1:05:58
Unknown: seven and a half over the last year and a lot in the last six months. What do you think the major wins and fails have been there?
1:06:04
I think the biggest one has been vaccines. Vaccines are the most wonderful product ever been in humanity to represent global cooperation and science and truth? I think truth, the most disappointing thing is that, and hopefully, I think America's comorbidities, our arrogance, our politicization of things that we should pull together on and having what was supposed to be the most innovative, wealthiest, tech enabled, the majority of pharmaceutical companies are here at the most robust, you know, we spend more money on health care than anyone in the world. She'd like to think the most robust, responsive government in the world, and they can defend the shores. And, you know, 5% of the population and 20% of the interaction. So, how we responded to this, and you can't just blame the government but how we responded as a people. There's just no getting around. We suck. We bought us terribly. Now, having said that at American firms, with a global cooperation of German firms and, and Turkish immigrants who emigrated to Germany, I know you know, this folks that these these vaccines, developed in record time, are just an incredible, I don't want to call them a gift and incredible achievement of humanity. What are your thoughts
1:07:20
Adam: on this guy? It's just it's such a gift. It's it shows the best in humanity. It's, by the way, that's I guess it was Trump who pushed it through but he conveniently forgets that it's just it's so beautiful So good to see we suck we suck because we had the gift of the vaccine so wonderful. And we just really did a bad job republicans
1:07:41
Unknown: in record time. We are just an incredible I don't want to call them a gift and incredible achievement of humanity. What are your thoughts? Each one I'm gonna be pro internet again, the internet work like the internet helped us you know,
1:07:52
Adam: listen to this. This is the most privileged woman I've ever heard of where I've ever heard speak about the internet worked when we were all locked down it worked it worked it was great, except if you are a essential worker Kara, but human humanity What are your thoughts?
1:08:08
Unknown: You know what I'm going to be pro internet again, the internet worked like the internet helped us in terms of work and work and delivery. I mean, I think you know, everything that we needed to get through the pandemic was provided unfortunately by these internet companies which did their job like in terms of that they of course have also gained their power gained even more power over lots of industries and it will continue to do so and repercussions going forward and commercial real estate everywhere everywhere you go restaurants retailers, you know communications meetings, business travel everything and so this is so privileged She doesn't
1:08:41
Adam: even know what she's doing. Like restaurants we just get curbside restaurants close this that was a losing money losing proposition. big box stores prospered you could order off Amazon you do a podcast you privilege pots. That's why you could stay at home. Oh, my services if the internet worked for you for you. That is not the majority of the
1:09:05
Unknown: world or the country make the internet work. It didn't break down now there's obviously these ransomware attacks and all kinds of cyber security issues that are going going in just recently this week have been has been in the news a lot. But you know it didn't break down and it got us through this thing whether you people had to stay home and I think it was without it would have been really a much different situation. How do you How would you do that? Without Of course, people have been through pandemics before without the internet, but it certainly helped.
1:09:31
Adam: I mean, gosh,
1:09:34
Unknown: and people love them.
1:09:38
John: Look, I don't know, I don't know why I look up to them. I it's a bit it's baffling.
1:09:45
Adam: I just want to know how many I mean, how many people are like this.
1:09:51
John: You can't know the movies more than we'd like to Yeah,
1:09:55
Adam: the more I think about it, at least is here which is great. She's here for a Tina's birthday. So I get a little rundown of what's happening in Brooklyn. By the way, there's the gay cold is running rampant in Brooklyn, just so you know.
1:10:09
John: The Gay cold Yes,
1:10:10
Adam: all the gate. That's what it's called. I didn't make it up. All the gays have a cold and they vote given it to ever do each other. All of Brooklyn, all of gay Brooklyn has cold.
1:10:21
John: There's a specific kind of call that goes from gay to gay.
1:10:25
Adam: That's what, that's what I was led to believe. Yes. Hmm.
1:10:30
John: I don't know what that's all about. But
1:10:32
Adam: when I hear, you know, here's the things I learned, like, wow, you know, everything in New York just went underground. Nothing really stopped, you know, complete violation of the ethics of the lockdown. So that's, that was already kind of kind of clear. But, you know,
1:10:49
John: it's just if you get the shot.
1:10:51
Adam: Oh, yeah, of course. Which one? I don't know. But she is she has the the Excelsior pass.
1:10:57
John: Did you try the the key honor?
1:11:00
Adam: Oh, my God, Adele do that. What am I thinking?
1:11:03
John: That's what I'm saying.
1:11:04
Adam: I'm an idiot. I'll try that. However, more interesting is just the more I listened to it. I see this. She really she really is thriving there. She loves it. She's very, very happy with her friend group. And it's interesting, like in the 80s in 87, when I was in New York, in Manhattan, it was Hell's Kitchen was truly a hell. They were rats as big as you know, as big as little dogs walking around, roaming around they'd and they could walk
1:11:32
John: walking around by the way, the rats are actually asking for spare change those
1:11:36
Adam: Yes, unbelievable. And they could they could shimmy up 70 stories in a skyscraper it was it was insane. It was it was just a total mess. It was grungy, dirty drug drug Horowitz everything you can imagine. And there's always kind of a New York attitude of a you know, but now it's really it feels like and maybe this is happening in more cities. Yet, you bitch about it. That's like, Oh, yeah. But you know, it's, it's still it's a great place. And we're here and, and we have, you know, passes to get into places if not stuff is on the ground. It just feels to me. Like we're moving towards a future where we may have a divided America. But I think it's going to be it's not gonna be north or south or anything like that. I think it will not even by vaccination status, it will be truly people who thrive in inner city and who really, somehow, like this atmosphere. Because they're very, they're really they are they have a lot of camaraderie and everything outside of the city is just kind of handed to the point wasn't an Isaac Asimov book, where they they built these super cities in the future. And then people went to go look outside, you know, look past the gates of the city, and they see these green pastures. And we just freaked out didn't know what to do with it and never want it to go that way.
1:13:01
John: I remember that one. But that's a science fiction theme.
1:13:04
Adam: Yeah. But it seems kind of possible, you know, and the rest of us will be out in the hill country doing our thing. But it won't be forbidden to go into the city or vice versa. just feels like we're kind of moving towards that people really are thriving. And that's the technocratic society where everything is done by AI and by, you know, the passes, and you're good to go and you have status. And, you know, maybe even the social credit score will be something that these people might thrive on. I
1:13:32
John: mean, I'm not now Yeah, you're going into direction where I think you should be going which is it's possible what you just said. And they think it's great. As long as you do the thing that's noteworthy is that they think it's great. And they're not skeptical. Yeah. Now this so then the so the social credit repair, whatever, whatever the Chinese call it is sounds reasonable. Sounds like a good idea. Because really, you don't want to be with a bunch of riffraff. I mean, I don't want to get on a train with somebody who's got a lousy social credit score.
1:14:09
Adam: Yes.
1:14:10
John: Next to me forgot.
1:14:11
Adam: Exactly, exactly. By the way. The one other thing she told me, which was great, because she said, if you've been following the New York mayoral race, like yeah, this rank choice voting is a mess. And she said no one is the only one person who who's in their group, who I think works in, in city government understands how it works. But she said it's oddly similar to the industry doesn't go to the Oscars, the Academy Awards, this rank choice voting says and that's why so many people were disappointed at the results this past year. When you know, is like two people who were were really neck and neck for the nomination for I forget what it was was production or whatever. Because of this. rank choice voting in the academy award. The third person actually got the award. And I would love to have a true a true mathematical breakdown. I have several emails that have been sent that I put in the show notes. But it's I don't know. I mean, it just seems to me It smells bad. And there's lots of people who saw me on talking about on Joe Rogan who are just saying you're a you're a retard moron, ADH Shut up. Republican.
1:15:31
John: Say.
1:15:33
Adam: I said that I when I talked about it with Joe Rogan. I said, this is really weird, this rank choice voting. And he's also like, I don't know, how does this work? We tried. We looked into web pages. We, you know, Jamie brought up information. And just it's it's not understandable, other than reverse runoffs. But everything I I see from it kind of shows that you get mediocrity, like, really not the person anybody wanted. And the argument seems to be well, otherwise, you wind up with someone who has less than 50% of the vote? Well, that's what it is, right? Is it majority? Is it majority rule, or more
1:16:12
John: than half who get? Well depends on the way it's set up. I mean, it can be set up in ly different ways, a lot of different states, if you don't get half in some states, or some municipalities, you have to have a runoff between the two top people. And that is what rank choice voting is supposed to prevent. In places like New York, where you have too many people running and you always end up with too, one guy gets 35%, another guy gets 32. And those are the two top vote getters. So you got to put a put them off against each other. Yeah, so rank choice is supposed to prevent that from happening. And why do we have to prevent it cost a lot of money to do these elections and to do run offs that cost millions of dollars?
1:16:53
Adam: Oh, you think that's the reason?
1:16:55
John: Yes. saves money.
1:16:56
Adam: But don't people who do these things for a living? Don't they just thrive on doing it? Well, Oh, we got to do more. I mean, how can how can Since when is spending money the problem in government please.
1:17:10
John: It's a good sales pitches to go where you were saving money. Sometimes they don't have the money. There's sometimes there's budgetary limitations, and they can't just spend money they don't have it's not like the federal government can do.
1:17:22
Adam: Well, if they said that, that it would at least be an argument that I can I can talk about?
1:17:27
John: No, they have kind of said it. I've we've heard it from a number of people. That it's just it's a write off. It's a it's a methodology to prevent runoffs.
1:17:37
Adam: Right. No, but you said the financial aspect if they just had NSB, because runoff
1:17:42
John: is the only reason you want to prevent run offs is because it saves a ton of money. And it's also inconvenient. There's a million reasons you don't want to run off.
1:17:52
Adam: Yeah, because you could lose it. I guess. I don't
1:17:54
John: know. It just seems that we lose anything. Yes, that's true to
1:17:58
Adam: one other thing.
1:17:59
John: I mean, in California, we have in such a way that and I don't know why they never mentioned California employs these systems. We had at the end, we had a run I was ranked choices, something and it was like they still had to be a run off. And it was a runoff between two republicans or two Democrats. I'm sorry. There's never republicans involved. The Democrats have managed to steal. I don't know how they've done it. But they've done a pretty good job of it. They're good at that. Yeah. Be good at it. Republicans used to to see any reforms. Exactly.
1:18:33
Adam: Before we take a break. Very important to note. I'm a little peeved about this, because it would it was so easy to call and the move and I lost track of it. I watched a couple games. But if we had to choose two countries based upon the no agenda, geopolitics of how sports competition work on a on a large scale, the Euro 2020 which is the big football competition, soccer. Yeah. I don't think we could have chosen any better than Italy versus England. Now, those are the two co those are the two COVID countries and I think without a play play today, the finalists today, I think we might still be doing the show. To me, it seems Italy is a shoo in for this. I mean, they got her get to England. Well, they got hurt worse than the UK. But the problem is that UK, England, they left the Euro, so Screw you.
1:19:30
John: But they love left the EU not the euro. I didn't ever want
1:19:34
Adam: you but when I say euro 2020 you know it's a euro. It's really a European type thing as they left the
1:19:42
John: EU I think it needs to be there is a distinction that needs Yes, you're
1:19:46
Adam: correct euros. Yes, you're correct.
1:19:50
John: Well, that's an interesting theory.
1:19:52
Adam: I personally want England to win because I think it's been a while and they've had
1:19:57
John: a really good they have an outstanding team.
1:20:01
Adam: Question about soccer analysis from Jhansi Dvorak. Hello, who are you?
1:20:07
John: And I hate soccer. I do know that much though. Now. This is an interesting I don't know, I'm thinking that England's gonna win this thing I think maybe it's been 60 years for the geopolitical you're making you're making based on the fact that they quit the EU and Asia be screwed and let the Italians win. That's one way of thinking the other one is okay, you've quit the EU, but we were still your friends and we'd like to do keep doing business. It all is well. You can win.
1:20:41
Adam: Italy, Italy is in such shambles. I mean, they really have Italy have any history of revolt, or they just they just stepped in line with Mussolini and all went fascist
1:20:53
John: well they just because they're all these is really a country filled with so many states you know, they're all different they're all separated and Mussolini brought them all together into you know the one great you know, when together nation I think it's been going on it was an ongoing process. But no, there was no revolution, like in France or, or Russia or here right? It's like that right?
1:21:24
Adam: So the Brits are the ones you got to be careful because they can come out with pitchforks and stuff. So maybe maybe I mean, if England wins that 66 years since they last won that country will go insane if they lose what do you think will happen? I don't know the story when I find out like knifing each other
1:21:44
John: well they like to knife each other.
1:21:46
Adam: So are you saying England I'm saying Italy is that? Is that our final? I'm saying England? I'm saying Italy but we're both saying it for geopolitical reasons or are you just think they have a better team?
1:21:58
John: No, I'm not saying that. I'm familiar with the Italian team it they obviously are really good team where they wouldn't have gotten as far as they did. So they're probably both matched at least somewhat evenly. So I can't say that England's better but so I'm doing it only for political geopolitical reasons. Good.
1:22:15
Adam: Okay. And you know, they are they remember they got zero votes for the Eurovision Song Contest this should just be this boom
1:22:22
John: out daughters maybe make good
1:22:24
Adam: by No no, no, no, no, this is a stomp extra on their face and take that
1:22:30
John: okay, if you think that then I admire your your analysis then.
1:22:36
Adam: Alright, with that I'd like to thank you for your courage and say in the morning to you the man who put the sea in the mega cities of the future Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. JOHN c. devorah.
1:22:46
John: Well, in the morning new Mr. Adam Curry also in the morning all ships to see boots on the ground in the air service in the water and all the dames and knights out there.

1:23:09
John: What was it again?
1:23:10
Adam: 2164 2164.
1:23:13
John: that's reasonable.
1:23:14
Adam: That's not bad for for a Sunday. Well, in the morning to you trolls.
1:23:18
John: Sorry. We're during the peak we were at 120 200 plus during
1:23:22
Adam: the the peak of COVID Peak COVID. Yep. COVID COVID Peak. Okay. Well,
1:23:27
John: I'm sure the old days
1:23:30
Adam: the good old days of the COVID Peak. Yeah. All right. Well, in the morning to the trolls and the troll room you can join him a troll room.io this is not just a chat room where you control away but you can also listen to the live streams as a player right on the page. And people seem to love it there's always trolls and the troll room you I mean you can go in there if you have a question if you need some psychological advice that's the place I'd go the troll room no agendas personal trolls troll room.io thanks to everyone who started subscribing to us no agenda social calm or federated mastodon instance which is really starting to work I love the balance now we got a couple trolls coming in you know from from like justice dot social
1:24:21
Unknown: you guys are
1:24:22
John: you guys around but he's wrong about what doesn't
1:24:25
Adam: mean anything it just balances it out you know it's like we
1:24:29
John: balanced it I just makes it annoying. locked down
1:24:32
Adam: yeah, but that's that's the beauty you can block them and you'll never see him again but I like it I like to hear the the opposite side you know shit poster. There's a lot of shit posters in there. But as as we federate, you know, I kind of like it was good so you can follow Jhansi Dvorak at no agenda social calm or Adam at no agenda, social comm join the crew. You'll flow through in the timeline and if you don't, you can find a place to sign up to a mastodon server. Almost anywhere that you can also set one up yourself, and we'd gladly federate with you. And we'd like to thank the artists who brought us the artwork. For Episode 1362. We titled that one shot to win. And Oh, my Oh, yeah, I got some pushback on this. I love no agenda. But why are you so sexist, Adam? This was the breast Vax. And we had quite a conversation about this. And as it turns out, well, the conversation went like this. This is great. We know this artist. This must be something he's either owned or licensed. And you had a good analysis because he cropped it. You saw exactly how how you would do this with a piece of art that was pre existing. And it turns out that it's it is free to use clipart. But of course, the enhanced significantly and that's correct to record who did that, but they
1:26:01
John: weren't free to use clipart is free to use. And people can use it now. I looked for it.
1:26:06
Adam: Well on some of our some of our artists felt gypped. And we both said, Look, if this thing is ripped off, comics, your blogger we'll find it But no, it was Nick the rat who found it.
1:26:19
John: We noticed this at the beginning that when we did this analysis that these pieces are all there was at least five pieces that were usable. Yeah. But we I brought up cheese cake in the show. So I went it was something came in that was a little sexual. I thought that might be it was funny. It was funny, because we did this whole thing about the breast milk and the killing the baby as I guess.
1:26:43
Adam: No, no, it was giving the baby antibodies as an exit strategy. Right?
1:26:47
John: That's right. That's right. But we wanted some breast to action in there. And so this one was this one was ludicrously because it was stupid. It was the big giant breasts. I mean, come on,
1:27:00
Adam: where is it really a comic strip blogger did the big breast is squirting milk
1:27:05
John: it and milk and it was kind of gross to do that. So. So we thought about it. And then we did look at a lot of other pieces. There was good pieces in there, lots of them. And but we chose this one after the discussion about the art itself, which I because I looked at correct record doesn't do cartooning. And this is not something he draw. And I figured he used it for somewhere. I couldn't find it. And you know, and it was changed enough. And it had the syringes of other things and I figured we even if it was ripped off, which he doesn't do know, it was legal. So I said, well, we'll just argue but we're talking about on the show and make it clear now the fact that some would think it's sexist, you know, you might want to reconsider listening to the show. If you really felt this is art that was bad, bad taste or sexual sexist or whatever.
1:28:00
Adam: Mike Riley Valley at effort but he even he knew he hadn't quite nailed it with his Windows. Windows of death. So we had the Windows logo in the background that a whole bunch of skulls and
1:28:15
John: his his original It was a completely original piece. That's what he does. Yep. And he does. That's why only he usually does one piece and maybe modifies at one time. Generally speaking, he when he comes, I'd say 75% of the time Riley puts a piece in he wins because it's it's that good. Plenty and originally he's really talented. But this time No.
1:28:41
Adam: Yeah, I use it for today's pre show are just because I liked it. There wasn't much else coming in. Now we both really liked the windmill. Visit the Netherlands come for the crime.
1:28:52
John: Yes. Very funny.
1:28:54
Adam: A lot. All suckled. Yeah. Kenny Ben. Did the the self serve antibodies for the kind of
1:29:02
John: the windmill done by Darren? Yes. That
1:29:04
Adam: was Darren O'Neill. And we it was he was very close. Very, very close.
1:29:09
John: Yeah, it could have been picked very easily for the breasts.
1:29:13
Adam: Yes. As you already say that we were looking for boo boo
1:29:18
John: boo back.
1:29:19
Adam: We were not actually looking for boob action but when we saw it we like him boob action. What else was there? Was there anything else that was that was no
1:29:30
John: a couple other pieces of cheesecake that you know, Darrin again made an attempt by putting in some pin up you know, some Vargas pin up or something like that and he keeps doing this but he's not. He seems to lack the the I don't know learing kind of quality to the pieces. He doesn't he doesn't seem to have the right mentality. I
1:29:57
Adam: think if he just relaxes and just does what he likes. And not trying to do stuff that he thinks will like. Yeah, I think you'll win time and time again. He's very talented. Well, he can win any any at any show that he contributed stuff. Sometimes it's just better stuff which is tough man. jail on a cracker. Yeah. So if you're using a podcasting 2.0 compatible app, not only can you see the transcript running by as we speak, you can search in that transcript Oh, my, you can create create clips that you can then tweet or email to anybody. All of these great features, including all of this artwork we're talking about right now. And you can even help Dred Scott out by adding your own chapter suggestions using hyper catcher. I go to new podcast apps calm, tried a new podcast app today. What's it going to hurt? You can always ditch it. Yeah, give it a shot, you might be surprised about how cool it really is. And thank you very much correct to record for your contribution. Time. talent, treasure is what we're always looking for here. A complete value for value proposition, all we ask for is if you're gonna send us a monetary donation, make it a number that's meaningful to you. That is the price discovery of the value for value model, and we could not be happier about all of these artists that are doing great work for us. No show can even approach to do this. There's no way you could afford it, it would never happen. Never in a million years, I can
1:31:29
safely say that if you're a big network, you're not going to get 1015 artists to to pitch you on ideas for the for the final product art. Would they do that on spec these artists do you think?
1:31:43
John: Did? I don't know?
1:31:46
Adam: Not every week at
1:31:47
John: that level? You know, artists are just artists and they have they don't think like any normal person.
1:31:53
Adam: Okay, well, I forgive them for doing that with anyone else but us.
1:31:56
John: It's just they have a abnormal way of looking at things and it's what makes them artists you just put up with it. I mean, you can appreciate it, you can think well, I'm an artist, I took a photo graph, you know, photograph I do that on my I consider my photographs to be very artistic in many ways. And I can do grab strikes but it's not the same as these guys it's this is a different kind of thing where you can actually manipulate photographs or catching moments in real time and making them into something else. But that's different. As far as I'm concerned to this sort of thing. No
1:32:35
Adam: agenda our generator comm is where you can view all of them if you don't have a podcast and 2.0 podcast app and we look forward to more art and after this right after the show is when we choose it goes real fast. John: I'll do this when Mason's strong as a first associate Executive Producer $260 This is my first donation. de-douche me please. Yep, you got it. You've been de deuced. After hearing john talk about Canada Navy is the National I had to donate so I could weigh in the national which is the TV program from the CBC that way i bitched and moaned about the last show, and I'll probably do more in the future is the LEAD program produced by our state sponsor, national broadcaster, the CBC? Well, as always been favored by the Liberal Party of Canada and hates the Conservative Party over the last 10 years that has gone off the deep end of wokeness and has only gotten worse since Trump and the departure of the lead host, Peter mansbridge. And I associated that with the loss of when I fell at PBS yesterday, these people had a stabilizing effect on the on the Iranians on the product, and the product, the overall product was superior now it sucks. many Canadians think of the CBC as the communist Broadcasting Corporation, viewership has been falling dramatically. The website homepage generally consists of articles about how COVID is scary, a spotlight on how hard it is being any kind of minority, and whether the latest thing happening with nature is because of climate change. JOHN is absolutely right about the coverage being shallow and devoid of any information. They're reporting regularly admits key information in order to construct a particular narrative so as to align
1:47:44
with their fear based equity focused reporting. It has gotten so bad that the CBC top comments consist of people calling them out on their willful admission of coverage and heavy bias. They have completely removed comments on their Facebook pages. This is what this is the sign of doom, you have to take the comments down because people are going to be bitching, in part because they can't moderate them effectively. And because of their journalists getting harassed. They receive $1 billion in taxpayers money every year, hold on, hold on revenue from licensing deals and advertising that Canadian billion because I'm not impressed, then that still counts. their YouTube channel has only 2.7 million subscribers. And the opposition under leadership ran in part on privatizing the CBC and cutting off their public funding, which of course the CBC removed from their interview when he said this. That's interesting. Chicken shows that
1:48:50
Adam: doesn't surprise anybody new.
1:48:53
John: No jingles? No karma. This was two. And they get the money in in Canadian money, which we gave him credit for. Definitely,

We go out for your people in the mouth.
1:54:30
John: Meanwhile, yeah, noticing I got a couple of bytom clips nothing great of him bumbling
1:54:37
Adam: or anything.
1:54:39
John: I have some I have the one stumble that's this Biden's stumble. It's kind of Alright, kind of funny. Listen,
1:54:45
Unknown: we're gonna continue to work for the release and detain Americans including Mark shimi
1:54:54
verrix perhaps the name correctly I miss I misspoke to physically real coke.
1:55:00
Adam: This is one of the one of the few scenarios where I would actually say, this is not a cognitive issue. This is he is a stutter. Or at least this is stuttering that he got caught up there. That's not really an old man thing. He's just he's a stutter all his life. Did you feel that was a cognition thing or?
1:55:25
John: No, but he did sound like he lost it. He had a moment there in the midst of it, where it sounded like Trump when his false teeth kind of got loose.
1:55:38
Adam: That was funny too.
1:55:41
John: Shall I that's what I was thinking. Okay, that now there is a clip I have because this is interesting. There's enough being fully realized what's going on here. But this is a clip from PBS and Biden versus the monopolies it's worth playing.
1:55:55
Unknown: President Biden also signed an executive order today aimed at curbing the anti competitive practices of big businesses. It includes 72 actions and recommendations to boost wages and increase consumer protections. Before a signing ceremony at the White House. President said the order targets abusive actions by monopolies.
1:56:16
Capitalism without competition isn't capitalism, its exploitation. Without healthy competition, big players can change and charge whatever they want, and treat you however they want. And for too many Americans, that means accepting a bad deal for things that can't go You can't go without
1:56:38
business and trade groups oppose the order arguing that it would hamper the post pandemic economic recovery.
1:56:45
Adam: Well, that is very interesting, because there's something in that executive order that I take issue with, you know, as legislation analysts, I tend to read these things. So I don't know what kind of bullcrap report that is. But there was a huge lobbying effort in this from Silicon Valley tech companies to allowed direct to consumer hearing aids without so the classification is a medical device. In order to have professional medical hearing aids, or medical grade hearing aids, fitted you really need an audiologist. And if you recall, when I got my hearing aids, I did a lot of reporting, how they were seeing the it was coming down Broadway, they were gonna get cut out of the deal because Silicon Valley has convinced Washington that they have algos, we just stick them in your ear and it gives you some beeps and boops. And you good Yeah. And you still configure
1:57:48
John: so that you that you your process took almost a month.
1:57:53
Adam: Yes. And so First, I would like to explain the difference because they're it's all they're saying it's price. And I've tried a year ago, I've tried many, many of these companies, and their product is shit. It is subpar. It has nothing to do with an actual hearing aid device. The ones I have quad core dual processor, it will last eight days is doing you know you have 32 channels of compressor limiters you need if you if you're not an audio professional, like I am, you cannot just do this yourself. Silicon Valley cannot just do because you're it's still asking you does this sound right? They don't have the knowledge that an audiologist has. And I needed an audiologist to help me set it up and to help me understand what I was experienced in expecting and then of course, within a week, then I was doing it with my own software but that's really not the path you should follow. So I don't know if this is a pure lobbyist thing. And I'm a little worried about what they're putting in these over that these direct to consumer hearing aids. They are so jacked up on getting this that I don't trust it. And they're gonna do something something weird about this.
1:59:11
John: And it's it's why are they so jacked? Why do they want it so badly? I don't know must be some serious profit involved here.
1:59:19
Adam: I think there is I the way the way it works is yes, I have the Y dou x moments have had the evokes before this. And these things are seriously expensive. You're talking at least three grand for two hearing aids could be a little bit more. The way it works is the first visit is in essence free. If you buy the hearing aids. I think almost half almost half goes to the audiologist who then can you know charge you for subsequent visits just to tune them, but that's how the business is basically worked. So there is a lot of profit in this but you're profiting off of giving someone an inferior product. With an inferior install process, it's really a matter. It's like it's almost like you
2:00:04
John: pull on. You're talking about Silicon Valley giving people an inferior product.
2:00:10
Adam: What am I saying?
2:00:11
John: What are you thinking? Yeah.
2:00:16
Adam: Yeah. Also, Bose was a big part behind this is a lot of money sell fitting hearing aids, I would recommend you not do it if you want to save money in the United States go to Costco, their top of the line hearing aids are very decent, and they have good audiologists, professionals, and you will pay less money. I think they're more like 1900. But it's not time to skimp on this crap. It's not about just amplifying. And in Silicon Valley, don't email me. Billy, I shall feed in practice. We were to use background noise. Directional beamforming microphones.
2:01:01
John: timecode. Anyway,
2:01:06
Adam: so that was interesting that you brought that up? I hadn't expected that.
2:01:11
John: Yeah. I always thought it was peculiar. It just seemed out of the blue. And then he had really good clear clips of Biden.
2:01:17
Adam: I have this by the way. I'm sorry. You got another Biden?
2:01:21
John: Well, this I don't know what this is. Because I typed and I obviously was touch typing. From Hell. It's the clip is dip. I think he's supposed to be dipshit.
2:01:32
Adam: Can I just read this?
2:01:35
John: Yeah, good luck. That
2:01:36
Adam: dips kits. Case. Id by ID. That's your touch typing is impressive. All right. Yes, ma'am.
2:01:52
John: Okay, I know what this is. Okay. This is kind of this is. This is the kind of dipshit he's at his press conference talking about pulling out of Afghanistan, which I have another clip I'm gonna follow up with. And he is talking about pulling out of Afghanistan. And so they're asking these to the reporters here and they're making a big fuss. I don't know why they even did a press conference here was completely out of control. It was really noisy. And he he picked take a question or two. I must have confused
2:02:22
Adam: if it was really noisy job. Oh, it didn't confuse them noise usually confuses them.
2:02:27
John: I think they had people in there, you know, telling people that I don't know what was going on, because they never showed the audience but it was sounded out of control. And then somebody all of a sudden they all shut up and one person talked. And so and but the questions were lame, and they were aggressive and they were not, is like aggressive or aggressive. Only and they're trying to they were condemning him for pulling out of Afghanistan did seem pretty staged. They didn't like any of this in the follow up level make this even more clear. So listen to this, this I call this the classic dipshit question. Ask them Biden. Yes, ma'am.
2:03:02
Unknown: The United States fever sponsible for the loss of Afghan civilian lives that could No, no, no, no. It's up to the people of Afghanistan, to decide on what government they want not us to impose the government on them. No country has ever been able to do that. Keep in mind as a student of history, as I'm sure you are.
2:03:25
Is Afghanistan but a united country? Not in all of its history? Not in all of its history.
2:03:37
Adam: So first of all, what's really happening is it's just a complete privatization of the military force over there. There'll be between 15 and 20,000. Contractors still doing the business of protecting the poppies and flying them to Mexico wherever they need to go. So it's just horseshit. That tape that oh, well, we're bringing the troops home, the murder. This is what they've wanted from day one, is to have it commercialized, ongoing forever. That's what happened in Syria, as what happens in Libya. It's all it's all contractors. It is it is despicable.
2:04:12
John: Well, whatever the case, it seems as though the CIA doesn't like us pulling out and they've got their guys out there telling it, you know, giving their side of the story, even though they're not supposed to be working for the CIA. Seems to me, but there is kind of a litany of why we shouldn't be pulling out and I don't know what the basis for that is or why is what if what you said and I promoted that concept to that this bunch of contractors are going to be there doing the work. Maybe they're not as good as the Army or who knows but there is this they still don't like the idea for some reason. And and so you can kind of spot who's promoting. There's no reason I'm on Biden's side insofar as the army is concerned. There's no reason for soldiers to be over there. You have these, these, these mercenaries and whoever else you want to do protect the poppy fields you don't need are those guys. But there's still some this whatever this thinking is, and it it crops up and when it crops up you have to say is who's this guy we're actually working for? And in this case, let's listen to Mr. Brooks on the PBS show on pulling out what does he have to say about it? And why do you think he's saying this?
2:05:30
Unknown: And that is his decision to pull us troops out of Afghanistan. Now. He made the argument again, David, this is the right thing to do. Afghan the Afghan leaders ought to be able to run their own country. Is it the right decision?
2:05:45
I think he's making a mistake, you know, and it's, it's, it's become obvious in record time, that it's a mistake. When he announced the policy initially, he said he had faith in the Afghan government to hold Afghanistan together from the Taliban, that is falling apart. We reported earlier on the show 85% of the territory has already fallen to the Taliban, the Taliban seems completely confident, they will take over. And you know, we we all I think it was 2014 or so. And this Pakistani young lady Malala, won the Nobel Prize, and who was shot in the head by the Taliban for going to school, there are a lot of Afghan a lot less out there. And we were all moved by her. And we all sympathize and thought that was a very important cause that young women in this part of the world should be able to get an education. And we're walking away from that we're walking away from the idea that Afghanistan will stay one country, we could be walking away from the idea that we can keep al Qaeda out of Afghanistan again. So they could set up a terrorist spot. In that part of the world, refugees flooding into Pakistan destabilizing Pakistan. So to me what we were doing over the last year, which was like 2500, troops, relatively low casualties, was a price worth paying for humanitarian and strategic reasons. And I think it's a mistake that we're pulling out.
2:06:57
John: Wow. Yeah, that's what I thought, oh, by the way, the Taliban took over the place once before and there wasn't these these refugees flocking to Pakistan.
2:07:10
Adam: Hey, I look crap. I have an extension on this from Biden. Unless you want to talk about this very clip for a moment.
2:07:18
John: There's not really much to talk about I said it's just seems to be planted before we play the extension. I would like to play an introduction to this clip, which started actually with Judy, I just want to just for informational purposes. It's it's an aside, this is Judy's trying to get to this this clip, Judy gaff.
2:07:39
Unknown: Well, it's, it's it's fascinating to watch it come back and we'll see where it goes. I also I want to do want to bring up with both of you. What President Trump spent a good bit of time talking about this week, David? I say President Trump, okay. President Biden, thank you.
2:07:59
Adam: Oh, by ethics, hell, Oh, my. So sorry about that. Cutie. Nothing, Judy. is following Jo.
2:08:10
John: Qt. Qt. So, yeah.
2:08:13
Adam: Now, I don't know, I presume that everything President Biden says is scripted. Sometimes he goes off the reservation a bit. But when I know you and I have been around for a while, and we've been to the tail end of the Bush administration throughout Obama. I mean, it's it's really been quite a ride. We remember a lot of things. And there's a lot of stuff like someone emailed me the other day. Did you know that when when you're labeled as a domestic extremist, that you can be picked up in America? Yeah, we know, the NDA that that was the enemy combatant that was early on in the Obama and I think it was the Obama administration, maybe even began with Uber started with bush. But
2:08:59
John: Obama had no
2:09:00
Adam: problem keeping it in play was the NDA of 2012. So it had to be Obama. And it was, and it was in there. And so yeah, we know that but we know a lot of things. And we certainly remember it
2:09:13
John: was an added door. Was it always in there, and he just signed off on it?
2:09:17
Adam: Oh, it No, it was in there in that 2012 he was. It was a big man. We were talking about that. You could be black bags and all this stuff. He was I think it was an addition. It was an addition.
2:09:28
John: If you have that the Liberty flag you can be you know, you must be a terrorist.
2:09:33
Adam: Yes. Now it wasn't the people saying the Patriot Act. No, it was an
2:09:36
John: extension. It was the Patriot he also had if you cared, the US Constitution means you're a bad person.
2:09:41
Adam: Hello. So now, I know pretty much the timeline. I know who was what what is where we also remember some things that people say and so this is what President Biden said about well listen to this. This was just this week, pre push him in line to the gave some help.
2:10:02
Unknown: As I said at the time, the second reason was to eliminate alkaitis capacity to deal with more attacks in the United States from that territory. We accomplished both of those
2:10:16
Adam: objectives. So what he is saying that he said, we're going to bring Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell, that's what he is saying. And he said that they achieve the objective. So al Qaeda would not strike anymore in the US homeland. The problem with this is, is that he said this three years after bin Laden was killed, so called killed or thrown in thrown in the ocean, no pictures, please. And it was about ISIS. So who is writing this material for him? Here's the original gates of hell clip, we came back after 911.
2:11:03
Unknown: We dusted ourselves off, we made sure that Osama bin Laden would never ever again threaten the American people. We came back, Boston strong, Lamy no one but resolved. To be certain that this didn't happen again. today. America may be grieving, still grieving. I'm Jim Foley, a native of New Hampshire. As I said, I grew up in Rochester. But the American people are so much stronger. Storm, so much more resolved, than any enemy can fully understand. As a nation, we're united.
2:11:45
And when people harm Americans, we don't retreat. We don't forget. We take care of those who are grieving. And when that's finished, they should know. We will follow them to the gates of hell until they are brought to justice. Because Hell is where they will reside. Hell is where they will resign.
2:12:09
Adam: So that's 2014 bin Ladin was so called killed in 2011. It's about ISIS, not al Qaeda. What is going on? We even made a jingle about it. We will follow them to the gate. ISIS. Take that Mr. student of history Biden.
2:12:38
John: Well, oh, that's what you chuckled at that comment that he made? Yes. Yeah. Yes. If you think Biden would remember who's being chased at the gate, say Hell no, please. But it's obvious that it was written by someone who just kind of had a vague memory of the comment and millennial. putting it up on the prompter. Yeah. Yeah, that's a great, great combination. That's good. Good catch. Catch you the day. Thanks.
2:13:12
Adam: Well, here's here's another thing that's going on the pert I just call it the purge in the show notes to put everything under the purge. If it's about January six, again, you know, like, Joe and I were talking about Joe Rogan. And I and you know, he's like, Oh, you can see it as the cops. And I said, I don't know, man. I think I just didn't see it that way. I didn't see it as an insurrection. You know, what was there? unlawful activity? Yeah. Was the shit that shouldn't have happened? Yeah. Was it about to topple the country and up end our democracy? No, I don't think so. And a lot of things have happened in the, in the capital, explosions, shootings. I mean, there's tons of stuff in history, much with much worse result except for the psychological terror that was was brought into play here. And Chris Hayes of msnbc takes us to a whole new level with some reporter, as they're now you know, now they're going after people trying to find them and finding reasons that we should arrest them. And, and I'm sure look, if you were trespassing, and you were destroying property, of course, you deserve to be arrested, but you also need to be charged with something and you need to be tried to how long has it been now? Half a year, six months. People are still sitting in cells. And they're looking for 500 people total that
2:14:33
John: well, they got that poor guy who had the horns on his head in solitary. Yeah.
2:14:39
Adam: So the most recent guy they picked up was really for quite legitimate reasons.
2:14:46
Unknown: Fans of Lego like myself honestly might be familiar with the brand's architecture line, which I love. It's a series of buildable models of famous buildings around the
2:14:53
Adam: world. Okay, first of all, what kind of nerd is this dude, I love Lego. Please fans
2:15:01
Unknown: of Lego like myself honestly might be familiar with the brand's architecture line, which I love. It's a series of buildable models of famous buildings around the
2:15:08
John: world is he's not is he? 12?
2:15:11
Adam: But we don't know because he has that vasectomy look. So we don't know if he's, by the way that was confirmed somewhere. Did you send an article?
2:15:20
John: No, I was surprised someone
2:15:22
Adam: tweeted this that isn't we're like, Hey, how you feel down dancing in the end zone. And it was an article that said, if you want to look younger, it's proven that a vasectomy helps. Hello, science.
2:15:35
John: And that was that was the that was the big thing in the 20s. Yeah, so they just have the book.
2:15:41
Adam: So I'll bet you do. Alright, back to Chris with his exciting Legos,
2:15:46
Unknown: models of famous buildings around the world, including the Taj Mahal, the Empire State Building, and until it's late 2019 retirement from life changing all the time, believe me, I'd keep track of this. The United States Capitol. Oh, if you could put to put it together. It's more than 1000 pieces. On a detailed model of the building and quote, discover its architectural secrets. Remove the dome to access the redundant interior depicting the National Statuary Hall with columns, eight statues and tiled floor here comes
2:16:16
well, Lego may no longer be manufacturing the model, but one of the Capitol riders managed to get his hands on it. When 27 year old Robert Morris of Pennsylvania was arrested last month, officers recovered a fully constructed US Capitol Lego set. Oh, According to court documents obtained by the website the smoking gun. They also found a notebook in his car that contained a list titled and I quote, step by step to create a hometown militia, including reminders like Britain assault rifle, and for magazines.
2:16:51
Adam: I love this story. The guy is a Lego nerd instead of you know, Chris saying Mao's cool fellow Lego nerd. Too bad he's in trouble. No, no, no. It's crazy. He got his hands on a Lego model. And you can take the top off and you can view the rotunda as he was planning his militia, his hometown militia attacks. So let's bring in the reporter and let's find out did he take his ar 15 and his four magazines to the Capitol on January sixth. Morris showed up at the Capitol on January 6. Dressed in camouflage wearing a tactical vest containing a pair of scissors and a knife. Oh no. And a compass
2:17:34
Unknown: is accused of stealing riot shields from officers leading and organizing rioters and assaults against police and entering the Capitol Building through a broken window. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, when a judge will decide if he should remain in jail.
2:17:50
John: So that I'm not used still oh look riot shield from a cop.
2:17:54
Adam: I don't know when he was distributing them he was taking I don't know nor one. I guess it doesn't sound like he took them off the cop and then gave it to someone else. It sounds like maybe they were stashed somewhere. I don't know. I do not know now. I'm sure he broke laws. But let's let's get this move these people on and stop the insinuation which just gets worse in this third and final clip. Scott, this detail. All I could imagine is whoever's searching the home coming upon this being like, well, this Why is he laughing? First is really serious, like God's insurrection of violence. And there's like, Lego,
2:18:33
Unknown: it's got this this detail. All I could imagine is whoever is searching the home coming upon this being like, well, this seems relevant to what happened. Okay, Chris, a lot of these cases have shapes or patterns that are symmetry shapes. This case has a shape all its own
2:18:50
Adam: shapes and patterns and symmetries. This is how we catch those damn report. I mean insurrectionists to what happened
2:18:57
Unknown: get Chris a lot of these cases have shapes or patterns or symmetry. This case has a shape ball itself and Robert Morris is from State College Pennsylvania and yes, they say he came to the Capitol with a tactical vest and those scissors. They also said he had a tourniquet fed safe. multiple fronts of what was a multi front war January six, first scraping with police outside grabbing up a time coordinating the theft and movement of police shields then they say he joined the fracas with the rioters in that West tunnel against police then they say he broke into was unlawfully inside a destroyed private hideaway office in the Capitol. We knew some of that from the original original charging documents, but it's what the Fed said when they tried to get him held in jail pre trial that included some of these new revelations. They say when they arrested him they found guns they found that tourniquet. They say they found handwritten notebooks writings that included step by step how to create a hometown militia. And yes, they say they found That fully completed Lego set of the US Capitol. They mentioned it just once Chris they didn't provide context as to what they think that meant, but prosecutors rarely put things in documents without some reason.
2:20:15
Adam: So let's just view this through the two lenses their lens is somebody was there did bad stuff, but Wow, man, we can't it kind of got lucky because this guy, I mean, he had a booklet that tells you how to assemble a home grown a militia and your hometown. He also had scissors. He had a knife and he hadn't any any had a tourniquet
2:20:35
John: attorney. He has a tourniquet. They're really emphasizing the tourniquet.
2:20:39
Adam: Yeah, I
2:20:39
John: mean, he was exposed to what did the tourniquet consist of? It's usually a piece of cloth, you know, like a scarf you wrap around something. Yeah.
2:20:48
Adam: So not what not what, none of that is illegal. And he has a model Lego of the Capitol Building. He could also view it in another way. These saps were set up by zhaan provocateurs, who may be handed in cop shields and dragged him into some tunnel, um, shield thing is very fishy, very odd. And now the end. So this is clearly someone who just sounds a little sad, really, you know, with that kind of that kind of stuff at home. And it just, I don't know this, this does not sound right. To me. This doesn't sound like a domestic violent, no,
2:21:29
John: but lock him up and keeping in jail.
2:21:30
Adam: That's the idea. That is the idea. I find that troubling,
2:21:37
John: I guess, about a couple of global warming clips.
2:21:43
Adam: You can wake me up in the middle of the night for that, john?
2:21:46
John: Well, here's the setup. Those are all from PBS news hour. And it goes from the setup, which is all these hot, you know, these heat waves that are around here, I guess there's one around here somewhere. Not here is the heat waves. And then we go into the setup. So we hear a lot of dog whistles. The way I see it, global warming setup one.
2:22:08
Adam: And we know sorry, somehow that was to my mistake. Oh, that's Oh. Oh, there it is. I see.
2:22:18
Unknown: extreme heat and drought are baking the Western United Canada again, this following hundreds of heat related deaths in the Pacific Northwest last week. record breaking temperatures are expected to return to California this coming weekend, including in the San Joaquin Valley, which is where William brangham is currently reporting and he joins me now from the city of Visalia, where will you be we're telling us it's something like 109 degrees, another heat wave coming tell us what it's like and our officials they're prepared.
2:22:54
Judy, the technical term as it is unbelievably hot now. The National Weather Service issued a warning that starting today through the weekend, there is an extreme heat alert. And they're basically advising people that if you don't have to be outside, don't if you do stay in the shade. Be inside if you can drink plenty of water. I mean, the concern as with all of these heat waves is the illness and the death. And as you mentioned, I think people don't have a real appreciation of how much heat waves caused death all over the world. This with the leading weather related killer when it comes to climate events. The Pacific Northwest.
2:23:33
Adam: I need to hear that again. What is just
2:23:36
Unknown: heat waves caused death all over the world. It's with the leading weather related killer when it comes to climate or events.
2:23:44
Adam: What do you think? I mean, what are the other climate related or weather related? tornadoes? tornadoes, hurricanes, avalanches? No, no
2:23:52
John: loves floods, floods, avalanches. volcanoes? No, it's not a climate. Nevermind.
2:24:00
Adam: No, it's whether you said whether that's the thing. Never mind no volcano. Yeah, he said whether the Pacifica Bigfoot. He writes, just a troll room banter. All over the world is freezing
2:24:14
Unknown: eating weather related killer to climate events. The Pacific Northwest heat wave which we just had that you mentioned, killed hundreds of people. Two years ago in Europe, many people may not remember 10s of 1000s of people died any heat wave their same thing back in 2003. Yeah. And so this is the ongoing concern that we see more of these events that more and more people will lose their lives. And it's not like the suffering is spread equally. The elderly people with certain medical conditions are more likely to die. The homeless and people who can't choose to work inside people who don't have adequate housing and people who can't afford to pay the high cost of running their electricity and their air conditioning. Day after day.
2:24:58
John: Wow. Wow.
2:25:01
Adam: Oh my goodness what this is that's the sad. Do you hear that he even he thought it was odd that he was saying, and in 2003 they were like all we know, that was 70,000 people in Europe that died in 2003. So it seems like it's even gotten better, because last year was only it was 10,000. So it's gotten better, I guess, I don't know, he felt was odd to you could tell,
2:25:26
John: well, he brings it home. Because if you listen to all this, and you go where they're going, you know what's going to happen? This somehow they're going to blame this on climate change, global warming.
2:25:37
Adam: Can you blame it on Republicans,
2:25:39
John: white wherever, you know, they kind of inadvertently do but not directly like they haven't done with the vaccination. But let's see how this goes
2:25:49
Unknown: away. And we know that there is a considerable amount of research being done about the role that climate change is playing in all this what is known at this point about the connection between the heat and climate change.
2:26:05
This whole field of research is known as attribution science, how much can you attribute a given event to something like climate change, and scientists are getting better and better at zeroing in on which events are really driven or impacted heavily by climate change. There was a study just out last week from a European agency that said that the Pacific Northwest heat wave that we all just experienced, was almost certainly driven in large part by climate change. It could not have happened and been as bad without climate change. June we know was the hottest June that North America has ever seen in record. Over the last 20 years, you know, the earth has seen the 19 of the warmest years on record. And so this is what the climate models have always predicted that climate change keeps going up. As we pump more in oil and gas and coal into the atmosphere. Temperatures will go up and these extreme events will go up. These heat waves the research is showing that they're more frequent now, they are starting earlier and they are lasting longer. So it is a genuine concern.
2:27:15
Adam: Okay. attribution science.
2:27:20
John: Yeah, I'm glad you caught that. Yeah, attribution sciences that did they give a degree in that attribution science, which is kind of a fancy way of saying finger pointing. is not a science is bullcrap. This is bull crap.
2:27:38
Adam: I'm reading all the science. explanations of this and it starts off right off the top climate and weather are related. What?
2:27:51
John: What?
2:27:53
Adam: There's not climate. Okay, but not the same. Here we go. Climate describes patterns of weather in an area over long stretches of time. Whether refers to specific events such as hot days or thunderstorms, heat waves, droughts, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes and floods. And Bigfoot
2:28:11
John: wildfire is not weather. I love it.
2:28:14
Unknown: Thank you for thank you for catching that one.
2:28:18
Adam: And this is Science Magazine. When extreme weather occurs, people often want to know if climate change is to blame. However, as Stephanie herring notes, there's no way to answer that question. Oh, she's a climate scientist at the National Centers for Environmental information in Boulder, Colorado. Any weather event could happen by chance, she explains it could simply be part of the natural variation is better. She says to ask about the influence of climate change, get ready. A region's climate sets the stage for an extreme event, scientists can then probe did climate change make some extreme event worse? investigating links between climate and extreme weather is known as attribution science. Such preaches coral correlation not causation. such studies can be tricky but not impossible. And in recent years, scientists have developed ways to do it with ever more confidence.
2:29:21
Scientists use computer models to analyze climate data with math. Wow, it's math. So it's a it's a term made up? Great. Okay.
2:29:38
John: Yeah, I figured you catch it. I like this wrap this baby up. I appreciate it.
2:29:44
Unknown: And and William A, given all of this, what can local officials what can what can residents do to stay safe?
2:29:54
Well, some of the things that we talked about before go to cooling centers like the one that I'm standing in front of here in Visalia. The larger issue is, of course, we need to cut our emissions to stop the temperature of the planet going up. But on a more localized level states and cities and counties, there's good research that showing that you can design cities better. You can build buildings, smarter, using better materials, more reflective surfaces, you can plant more trees that offer a lot of shade. Those things are all crucial. The one of the most important things that researchers I've talked to have said is that strengthening our electrical grid in there is because like now, in Visalia, there's maybe 100,000 people standing around me living around me who are protected by the electricity that is fueling their air conditioners, if we had a massive blackout in the middle of one of these massive heat waves. And all of a sudden, that is hundreds of 1000s of people that would no longer have the protection of that air conditioning. And you could see a real tragic event occur. That's one of the big fears that as these heat waves become more common, big stresses on the electrical grid can cause real serious problems. It is such a such a big story. It's such a serious concern.
2:31:09
Adam: Oh so serious. No One No wonder young kids are just Neel allistic, if this is the trap that is being pumped out all day long, and we're all gonna die anyway. Who cares? Those that have no faith in politicians on either side of any aisle or any wing? Nope. They've completely given up on that. I don't blame them that these these eight holes are responsible for that. Yep. Oh, my goodness.
2:31:41
John: I agree. It's ruining for everybody. It's also will say, I will say do have just one more example of PBS. Kind of being headed toward being like the national just bullcrap. And just play this is not to do with the climate change. This is about the hackers. And this is the hacker Russian Bs and PBS and listen to listen to the bias of this story had the assumptions, the unproven assumptions that are just baseless baseless assumptions.
2:32:13
Unknown: President Biden today press Russia's President Vladimir Putin to take action to disrupt ransomware attacks emanating from Russia. The leader spoke for an hour by phone in the wake of a string of cyber attacks linked to Russian hackers. This paralyzed us businesses, Mr. Biden warned that the US will quote defend its people and its critical infrastructure.
2:32:37
Adam: Well, I'm glad you brought this up.
2:32:40
John: Before you go into your analysis. Was you talking about Biden when she said the leader?
2:32:47
Adam: Oh, crap. I missed that. Let me hear that. Again. President
2:32:50
Unknown: Biden today. Russia's President Vladimir Putin to take action to disrupt ransomware attacks emanating from Russia. The leader spoke for an hour by
2:33:00
Adam: think she says the leaders Yes, so they're leaders there both of those leaders thinking style leader or leader glorious leader leader.
2:33:13
60 minutes, which is on the CIA broadcasting systems did a very in depth piece on these hacks. And because it is the CIA broadcasting systems, I think it's important to go through some clips of this cuz every single one can be analyzed from, from this very perspective that this is propaganda. It's unproven. And there's all kinds of actors and dumb shit was said
2:33:44
Unknown: when presidents Biden and Putin met in Geneva last month. It was the first time that the threat of cyber war eclipsed that of nuclear war between the two old superpowers and solar winds was one big reason why last year and perhaps the most audacious cyber attack in history, she's Russian military hackers sabotage the tiny piece of computer code. This
2:34:08
Adam: is all all of a sudden now it's done. It's Russian computer hackers. What happened to the our evil network that had might have links to it or that at least is is allowed to operate now. It's just facts. Do you have baseless fact baseless, baseless,
2:34:28
Unknown: military hackers sabotage the tiny piece of computer code, it's
2:34:31
Adam: important that we listen to this because they're going they're going for some kind of conflict. They want it. They want it these eight holes
2:34:39
Unknown: buried in a popular piece of software called solar winds. As we first reported in February, the hidden
2:34:45
Adam: virus was that
2:34:49
John: sounds Russian solar wind Yeah, sounds like Russian solar
2:34:52
Adam: winds. The company they hacked that's the Austin content.
2:34:56
John: Here's a piece of software called solar winds.
2:34:59
Adam: It's Austin. company,
2:35:00
Unknown: as we first reported in February saturation virus spread to 10,000 government and private computer networks, by way of one of those software updates we all take for granted. There it is.
2:35:13
Adam: So first of all, did you know that went to 18,000 government servers? Did you hear that anywhere? No. 18,000. And it happened through an automatic update.
2:35:26
Unknown: After it was installed. Russian agents went rummaging through the digital files of the US Department of Justice, state, Treasury, Energy and Commerce among others, and was not Chinese. They had unfettered access to top level communications,
2:35:42
John: where the Chinese be more interested in doing this than the Russians.
2:35:45
Adam: Why are you talking over the clip?
2:35:47
John: I'm just asking questions. I can't stop myself. Wouldn't the Chinese be more interested in doing this then the Russians, what are the Russians going to get out of there
2:35:55
Adam: is no question. It was the Russians. Why are you being a difficult person? Have you had the Coronavirus shot? We're here to talk to you about the Russians. Seriously. There's no they have no proof has been presented. This is just now the Russians. And let's bring in
2:36:13
Unknown: Microsoft Fred Smith is president of Microsoft where he learned about the hack after the presidential election this past November. By that time, the stealthy intruders had spread throughout the tech giant's computer network by combining stolen some of its proprietary source code cues to build software products. more alarming how the hackers got in piggybacking on a piece of third party software used to connect, manage and monitor computer networks.
2:36:46
Adam: I am flabbergasted
2:36:48
John: Hold on a second. Microsoft was hacked and they were stealing stick code. Yes. What is he doing with this is China, Russia? Russia, I'd like to know why that China wasn't even introduced into this this storyline. Who else? What is whose the country the biggest country one of the biggest countries in the world. Only top buy by India is 100 million people less than just as monsters 1.4 or 5 million, billion people. They don't want to pay for Microsoft Windows. They would love to have their own operating system just steal some Microsoft code. What are the Russians getting? What are the Russians doing with this with stealing Microsoft code for what
2:37:38
Adam: they're doing the bidding of Trump
2:37:41
John: some believable this reporting gets better. The people putting this stuff together think that everyone out here is an idiot.
2:37:48
Adam: That's why we're doing this tech news segment. We continue with Brad Smith from Microsoft.
2:37:53
Unknown: What this attacker did was identify network management software from a company called solar winds. They installed malware into an update for a solar winds product. When that update went out to 18,000 organizations around the world. So did this malware.
2:38:12
Adam: The Orion platform is the underlying foundation. So
2:38:15
Unknown: solar winds, Orion is one of the most ubiquitous software products you probably never heard us right. But to 1000s of IT departments worldwide. It's indispensable gather metric. It's made up of millions of lines of computer code 4032 of them were clandestinely rewritten and distributed to customers in a routine update. opening up a secret backdoor to the 18,000 infected networks.
2:38:45
Adam: 18,000 infected government networks Russia. That's that's an that's an offense. You know, if you just pin it on Russia without your baseless and he any evidence, then people get riled up about it. And Brad Smith, I guess is brought in that, you know, Microsoft shoddy DNA is responsible for all problems. I don't want to say that any other platform would necessarily be better if they were the dominant platform. But Microsoft's pretty, it's pretty jumbly piece of crap. And it's these automatic updates that people just trust like morons. Let's continue with bread.
2:39:25
Unknown: When we analyzed everything that we saw at Microsoft, we asked ourselves, how many engineers have probably worked on these attacks? And the answer we came to was, Well, certainly more than 1000. You guys are Microsoft. How did Microsoft miss this? I think that when you look at the sophistication of this attacker, there's an asymmetric advantage for somebody playing offense. Is it still going on? Almost certainly these attacks are continuing.
2:39:57
Adam: I just realized that maybe another angle to this This may be the final kick back at Microsoft after the Jedi contract was cancelled could because of course it has to go to Amazon and Bezos. Maybe this is also partially. Yeah, Microsoft, you know, your your code is no good. You know, you can't keep the you can't keep the Russians out. And why would you even have Bret why would Brad Smith even agree to this interview, which is clearly not great for Microsoft?
2:40:29
John: couple of the other things to note, I think all these theories are good. Do we have any conclusive conclusive evidence of No, not yet? A couple of things. One, who comes up with this 1000 engineers to create what a couple of pieces of shit code? Are you kidding me? I'm not buying that in the least 1000 engineers. We idolize it. It took 1000 engineers. Well, maybe if it took 10 engineers, they do a better
2:40:52
Adam: job. Anything you want to do on Microsoft Windows takes 1000s.
2:40:57
John: The thing is, once you mentioned asymmetric attacks, this has nothing to do Russians are never done asymmetric, anything. The asymmetric stuff comes from the Middle East. That's where all those asymmetric warfare comes from. Everything comes from Middle East. And another bad actor who's not mentioned at all is Iran.
2:41:15
Adam: And how about North Korea? North Korea was the one that ransomware and Sony. Yeah, we'll hear that. You don't hear about those guys at all anymore.
2:41:24
John: Well, do you think they'd mentioned North Korea at least because it's a phony baloney thing to do in the first place? But Ron's not I mentioned this on the show before when I went and visited with CloudFlare and Windows CloudFlare. They told me that the number one hacker in the world is Iran. There's are all the attacks come from is where they get all their customers because I Brian attacks for some reason, and they have to use CloudFlare to block them and did their number one period and that's they're never mentioned in these reports. And we want to bring the guy from CloudFlare and he would know more about this than Brad's Brad's whatever his last name is Smith,
2:42:01
Adam: Brad Smith. He's very famous. He used to run the whole gaming division Xbox game.
2:42:07
John: Yeah, that convinces me.
2:42:11
Unknown: Oh, no.
2:42:15
John: Maybe you get me riled up?
2:42:16
Adam: Yeah, maybe you should just blame it on the French. She funny. Yeah.
2:42:21
John: That'll make more sense.
2:42:22
Adam: All right, let's go back to Brad Smith. You know, you said it was 1000s of I mean, they must have had, you know, complete troll farms and hacker farms and everything ready 1000s of people,
2:42:34
Unknown: the US Justice Department acknowledged the Russians spent months inside their computers accessing email traffic, but the department won't tell us exactly what was taken. It's the same at Treasury, commerce, the NIH energy, even the agency that protects and transports our nuclear arsenal. The hackers also hit the biggest names in high tech. So what does that target list tell you? I think this target list tells us that this is clearly a foreign intelligence agency. It exposes the secrets potentially of the United States and other governments as well as private companies. I don't think anyone knows for certain how all of this information will be used. But we do know this. It is in the wrong hands.
2:43:27
Adam: So we don't really know what they have. who's running this outfit. We don't really know what they got. We don't really know how long they were there. What they were looking at. We don't really know. Is that our gut? That's our government. And it started six months ago. So this squarely falls under the Biden administration. I think they're afraid to pin it on China because China could eat their lunch in a heartbeat at this point. They're so inadequate and in just the not functional these people. And I think this is part of the proof is that well, they did it to
2:44:02
Unknown: Ukraine. We all remember that. For years, the Russians have tested their cyber weapons on Ukraine. Not Petya a 2017. attack by the Gru. Russia's military spy agency use the same tactics as the solar winds attack. sabotaging a widely used piece of software to break into 1000s of Ukraine's networks. But instead of spying, it ordered devices to self destruct. It literally damaged more than 10% of that nation's computers. in a single day. The television stations couldn't produce their shows because they relied on computers, automated teller machines stopped working grocery stores couldn't take a credit card. Now what we saw with this attack was something that was more targeted, but it just shows how if you engage in this kind of tactic, you can unleash an enormous amount of the damage and havoc.
2:45:03
Adam: That computer self destructed another report I missed.
2:45:08
John: You know we didn't get that.
2:45:10
Adam: If computers in Ukraine itself destructed from a virus, this would be something that will be talked about. We've got dude's name Ben and Bernadette's all over the place they would have known this. I'm just not buying that. So now they bring in chris chris Inglis. Couple more quickies here.
2:45:26
Unknown: Chris Inglis spent 28 years commanding the nation's best cyber wires as at the National Security Agency, seven as its Deputy Director, and now sits on the cyberspace solarium commission, created by Congress to come up with new ideas to defend our digital domain. Why didn't the government detect this? The government is not looking on private sector networks. It doesn't surveil private sector networks, that's a responsibility that's given over to the private sector. Fire I found it on there's many others did not. The government did not find it on their networks. That's a disappointment. Disappointment is an understatement. The department of homeland security program called IT
2:46:12
John: guy asked the question, why didn't the government detect this? And instead of saying they didn't, because it he says it later in his answer? Because I guess 16,000 government computers were infected according to the report.
2:46:26
Adam: 1000 computer to government computer networks is the report.
2:46:29
John: Okay. 18,000 government computer networks was just a lot of computers. Yeah. got infected and they didn't get caught. And he would show that he asked the guy point blank. Why didn't the government catch this? It was 18,000 networks. And the guy says well, because we got nothing to do with the private sector. Good. That's how he answered it. That's correct. That's what you played against. So everyone gets a good feeling for this bullshit artist
2:46:55
Unknown: Chris Inglis spent 28 years commanding the nation's best cyber wires as at the National Security Agency, seven as its Deputy Director, and now sits on the cyberspace solarium commission, created by Congress to come up with new ideas to defend our digital domain. Why didn't the government detect this? The government is not looking on private sector networks. It hasn't surveil private sector networks. That's a responsibility that's given over to the private sector. Fire I found it on there's many others did not. The government did not find it on their networks. That's a disappointment. Disappointment is an understatement. The Department of Homeland Security spent billions on a program called Einstein
2:47:39
John: stop again. So he kind of offhandedly, it seems like he's answering the question, but the question was actually, why. Yeah, not the guy never asked answers the question why he says it was a disappointment. Yeah. Yeah. What about the Why? part of the question? Why? You know, if I asked you something, why did you do that Adam? And you say is a disappointment? That's not the answer to the question.
2:48:08
Adam: Yeah, but you know, that's why we're not on CBS making the big bucks. No, we're not. And we don't follow up on that stuff. The Department of Homeland Security spent billions on a program called Einstein remember that we laughed our asses over that money down the drain. Wait a minute, do we still have a clip of that Einstein crap, that I remember that being very funny. Einstein, it's got to be a long time ago. I got a lot of Feinstein, but no, Einstein, I we continue
2:48:38
Unknown: to detect cyber attacks on government agencies. The Russians outsmarted it.
2:48:45
Adam: Okay, so then this was, I think this was during Obama, the Einstein project, wasn't it? It's that long ago. I can't
2:48:55
John: remember I had to do some research. Alright,
2:48:57
Adam: so get ready because we're going to wrap this up with amazing comments from this guy.
2:49:03
Unknown: This hack happened on American soil. It went through networks based in the United States, our our defense capabilities constrained the US intelligence community, the US Department defense can suggest what the intentions of other nations are based upon what they learn in their rightful work overseas, but they can't turn around and focus their unblinking eye on the domestic infrastructure that winds up making it more difficult for us. He doubles down
2:49:33
Adam: by avoiding the obvious 18,000 government networks, snooping male doing all kinds of stuff we don't even really know. And all he can say is, well, you know, we don't really have the power to look at commercial networks. This sounds to me like a move towards we need to monitor everybody's network. And I think there's one additional piece this is where the CIA comes in. This is my favorite.
2:49:57
Unknown: It's hard to kind of get something like this. completely out of the system. And they certainly don't understand all the places that it's gone to all of the manifestations of where this virus where this software still lives. And that's going to take some time. And the only way you'll have absolute confidence that you've gotten rid of it is to get rid of the hardware and get rid of the systems. Wow. So unless you get rid of all the computers and all the computer networks, you will not be sure that you have gotten this out of the systems you will not be
2:50:26
Adam: Oh, baby, hardware Bonanza coming up. And who knows? Who knows what's going to be embedded in the new hardware? Everybody swap it out?
2:50:37
John: Boy, you know, this is part of the thing. Microsoft's up to Windows 11. Do you have to have it now?
2:50:44
Adam: Oh, yeah, you have to have a certain chip in order to load it how
2:50:47
John: to have a little chip in there that then calls home and make sure that you're legit. You have done this, Jim that he won't do anything to stop with what we just heard about, as far as I can tell, but to another way getting in there, you know, they want to get they want to spy on everyone.
2:51:04
Adam: Yeah, and and they want to spy on every government computer. This is the CIA. I'm telling you. This is a CIA story, CIA. They're obsessed with Russia. They haven't been too successful in China, they their agents get killed.
2:51:19
John: Agents all got killed in China. They've done nothing about it.
2:51:22
Adam: Yeah, let's go focus on Russia because we can't beat those guys. Scary. And this is a to create strife with Russia. And, man, that's a bad idea. It's also a setup for a cyber pandemic. It's a setup for all kinds of things, including forcing corporations out of fear, maybe going direct, you know, again, insurance is important in these games, to get people to upgrade their hardware with the new chips and everything. So the CIA will have even less trouble spying on anything and anybody they want along with the NSA. Final claim
2:52:00
John: you can you could it be I could see this happening. Where are these agencies have a some micro service architecture that you should go through, which provides you protection? Sure, for you to go through then you use this micro services architecture that the CIA or the NSA or whoever, or maybe some even new agency that just monitors corporate computer systems. And it's probably run by the Chinese behind it all. make it even easier for ridiculous what's going on
2:52:32
Unknown: last clip of the series since our story first aired, the hacks have kept coming. And one of the people you just heard from former NSA deputy director Chris Inglis was chosen as the country's first National Cyber director reporting directly to President Biden. President Putin for his part still denies Russia's involvement in solar winds.
2:52:55
Adam: So this guy's been promoted the whole thing beautiful package on CBS 60 minutes thank you very much Neil Jones clip custodian he put that together. Very impressive work.
2:53:12
John: Well, stinks to high heaven.
2:53:15
Adam: This is sadly You're right. I think we I think we can expect some, some fun stuff. I think I think no, I'm I'm actually kind of excited about it. Now, let's see what their next move is your move. douchebags. China
2:53:33
John: is making some moves that are kind of interesting. And Dave, you heard the tribulations and trials and tribulations of Tesla in China. No, I
2:53:41
Adam: have not. Oh,
2:53:44
John: this is the same thing that happened with Hollywood. You know, do you get over there they treat you like a king and next thing you know, you're getting no money out of this deal.
2:53:51
Adam: I mean, first they shower you with a shower you with money and hookers and blow and then they take away your industry? Yeah.
2:53:57
John: Listen, these two clips. This is Tesla one in China,
2:54:00
Unknown: Tesla in China seems to be having one problem after another. It was a company that really seems like it could do no wrong in China for a long time. But over the last several months, we've seen a number of regulatory issues. We've seen a lot of bad press in the Chinese media, a lot of criticism on Chinese social networks, all of which, in a country like China is in some way tolerated. This would not be happening if the government were not okay, on some level with Tesla coming in for this sort of criticism. So clearly, this sort of honeymoon that Tesla was having in China, just incredible success, almost unheard of success for a foreign company of almost any kind has come to an end and they're into a much more difficult period in what is the world's largest automotive market. Hmm.
2:54:54
John: Well gets even worse, coordinated by the central government.
2:54:58
Adam: Right where was this report from?
2:55:00
John: think this is anti D. Okay, I believe was in. But it could have been a hearing listened to part two. This is where it gets even more weird because you'll hear
2:55:11
Unknown: originally in February of this year, there was some news that regulators including some some quite important about Chinese market regulation agencies had summoned Tesla executives for meetings over what the government referred to as quality and safety issues. Then, we had a very strange incident at the Shanghai auto show in April, where a woman of a protester really got into the show, climbed on top of a Tesla car at the company's booth, and began shouting that brake failure, her model three and nearly killed four or five members of a class. And that, again, is something that went out uncensored on Chinese social media, it went viral, it was heavily covered in the state controlled media. And so there was a sense that the government was tolerant of people bringing Tesla in for a fair bit of criticism. And that's something that was quite new. So and then most recently, we had news that there will be a recall in effect on all of Tesla's cars in the entire country just about over 280,000 miles to deal
2:56:22
Adam: with how many missed it How many of you 280,000
2:56:26
John: recall in
2:56:26
Unknown: effect of all of Tesla's cars in the entire country, just about over 280,000 vehicles to deal with an issue with the autopilot software? Yeah,
2:56:40
John: yeah. We want all your cars back in the factory.
2:56:44
Adam: I am no fan of battery cars, but I came across one that I'm I'm kind of liking the AP Terra de PT era.
2:56:54
John: Yeah.
2:56:55
Adam: Have you heard of this?
2:56:57
John: I've heard of it. But I'm just not right. Not visualizing it. I'm
2:57:00
Adam: not familiar with okay. ap tierra aptr a.us. This is a this is a battery car. It's a two seater, three wheel vehicle. That the whole roof the whole top of the car is a solar panel. Oh, yeah, I've seen this thing. And because it's so light, it can do 1000 miles on a single charge. But as you're driving, encouraging, it comes to charging. Kind of like this.
2:57:27
John: I mean, dark mobiel Come on.
2:57:30
Adam: If I had if I drove that here in the hill country, that'd be some good old boy with a truck on top. Shooting monster truck wheels crashing down. But I kind of like it. It has a whole vibe. Yeah. It's a dormobile. You're right. But I like it. It's kind of cool.
2:57:51
John: We have one of our producers that works for Neo and I owe the company in China that is a manufacturer is the competitor to the Tesla. There's two battery car companies in China. And I think they've stolen Tesla's technology and they're just gonna move it over to the Chinese companies and they're pulling all the Tesla's off the road not to give any so nobody gets any ideas. It's this over for Tesla in China. And this is going to be interesting is how Elan musk deals with this. Yeah. And by the way, if I was Elan Musk, and I had this relationship with China, where this is happening, do not go up in your rocket.
2:58:27
Adam: Well, as long as he's CEO, there's no way he's going to do that. He cannot do that as CEO. There's no way that that can be permitted. That's why they How can they How can Bezos do at peak remember he just resigned. He just resigned last week. Ah. Branson, Branson, his executive chairman or whatever. He's not running the show. Ilan can't do it. There's no way no way.
2:58:53
John: So he says that, believe me? He does. I don't think he wants to do it.
2:58:58
Adam: Before we take a break, looking at some supply chain news, our producers have been very busy. Got some nice charts and graphs. The spot rate for a 40 foot container from Shanghai to Los Angeles. That's just for the container is now $9,631 which is 229% higher than a year ago, according to the drewery world container index. Interesting. In the meantime, another producer writes right in I don't know the context of this environment, but there's a shortage on Pepsi drinks.
2:59:41
Unknown: That's all I know. So I don't know more than that, but be on the lookout for it. And this has got to be the supply chain issue of the week the coronavirus pandemic has sent supply chains into a tailspin. First it was toilet paper, then it was ketchup packets, gnomes semiconductor Now its rubber.
3:00:02
multiple factors are leading to a major rubber shortage around the world. This could be getting a lot worse,
3:00:07
we could be on the cusp of a lot of Apocalypse, the global natural pocalypse was valued at nearly $40 billion in 2020. But the month border for rubber is really continuing to increase. One analysis predicts the rubber market could be worth nearly $68.5 billion by 2026. Rubber is a critical raw material, just think anytime you're going anywhere by car plane, or even by foot. You're using rubber. But rubber is also used in your personal protective equipment like gloves and masks like the elastics that stretch behind your ears. Plus, it's used in literal rubber bands. And then there are hair ties, underwear, erasers, condoms and more. Rubber Ducks though those are plastic. It's used in more than 40,000 commercial products
3:00:59
Adam: you could call it the shortage some people are referring to it more as a supply chain disruption rubber apocalypse
3:01:09
John: is a synthetic product that comes from oil refineries.
3:01:13
Adam: Oh they showed trees in this in this report
3:01:17
John: who uses natural rubber anymore
3:01:22
Adam: I don't know anything about rubber that's why I'm happy that you have this response this whole report was based on trees and rubber trees and showing the the bark or whatever from the rubber trees in the warehouses
3:01:37
John: well I'm sure that is used for some things but most of the rubber there bitching and moaning about is comes from oil refining it's a it's a it's a new synthetic product synthetic rubber.
3:01:49
Adam: It's reminisce
3:01:50
John: ever enough rubber to go around. It was coming from the damn rubber trees.
3:01:55
Adam: Okay, so maybe this is bullcrap.
3:01:58
John: I don't know this book. I just something up. I don't know why this report is I didn't hear about this. I'll look into it.
3:02:04
Adam: Well, here, here's my thinking. I remember my mom rest her soul. I remember my mom talking about World War Two. And how they had to support our boys overseas by not wearing pantyhose so that they would have enough nylon for parachutes. And in fact, the women would draw a dark line up the back of their leg to give the the illusion that they were wearing pantyhose. And
3:02:33
John: it was really it was really hoes and Penny hoses. Really?
3:02:36
Adam: Oh, okay. Sorry, I wasn't around them. And
3:02:40
John: what I remember a penny was fairly modern.
3:02:42
Adam: Do you think that there could be some similar thing here like do it for the boys do it for the troops. We need rubber.
3:02:49
John: Now this bullshit story I'd like to know I don't know what the basis for it is. Well, the way she revealed the story she she throws in chips because it COVID chips.
3:03:03
Unknown: I don't know.
3:03:05
John: I would I would say that some news source I would be dubious. Was it chatter newsy? There's a third one. chatter
3:03:16
Adam: newsy isn't a third one.
3:03:19
John: Yeah, there's a third one is lame news thing is called I don't know what it's called. I can't think
3:03:24
Adam: of a third.
3:03:24
John: I mean, it's all on Pluto.
3:03:26
Adam: He kind of had me after cheddar so I'm not sure a Newsies just Um, no, I have no idea. I have no idea. Well, I just keep your eye on it. Because you know, this is the she did mention the rubber gloves.
3:03:40

3:18:16
John: I have three.
3:18:17
Adam: Okay, well, you're probably gonna nail this. Well
3:18:19
John: let me play. I got three but one of them is is disqualified because it's you. I don't know you're no hype.
3:18:27
Adam: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. If it was me. Yeah. Where'd you get that from? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's got to be old. Yes. Very old making fun of Obama.

3:18:52
Adam: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay,
3:18:56
John: to missing and then nothing.
3:18:59
Unknown: There's nothing like it.
3:19:03
Adam: Here's the only one I have. I don't know if it's a contender, poke them in the rear and
3:19:09
John: poke him in the rear and poke him in the rear end. To Know when to come a strip blogger. I think the one that was nothing is okay.
3:19:22
Adam: It's really borderline. There's nothing like it.
3:19:25
John: Yeah, okay.
3:19:27
Adam: It's okay.
3:19:28
John: I mean, yes, I said, I
3:19:30
Adam: said was okay, you both we both know, it's really no good. It's not happening. Let me see. I think I have one little fun little thing here. Before we go. Actually, do you want to update on that? I'll save that for Thursday. I have to give you an update on my septic system, because it really is miraculous. I've learned now that there's a difference and this is the aerobic system and you know, it's it's worth discussing, but we can do that on Thursday
3:19:59
John: as somebody called you Are you mixing the term gray water with? Yeah,
3:20:03
Adam: yeah, that was dumb. And I think as I said it, I knew that was messed up. Yeah, that was dumb.
3:20:11
John: So, I've got, I've got a couple of things I can finish with. I can do the tick tock hit piece that was on MTD, which has just been sitting around. And maybe we should just finish with that.
3:20:22
Adam: Let me do one quickie one in between. One of my biggest pet peeves is the incessant use of the term community by the media, black and brown communities, which is so insulting LGBTQ communities insulting,
3:20:40
Unknown: but Boston pride organization is dissolving. The group has promoted equality for the LGBTQ community for more than 50 years. But volunteers say they've received complaints that they are not inclusive enough in a statement. They say they do not wish to stand in the way of change.
3:20:59
Adam: 50 years This group has been together this community and now they're dissolving because people are complaining they're not inclusive enough. What happened to the community? There was a community don't you all agree in the community?
3:21:15
John: I was reminding me of that clip that you might be able to find which goes way back it's like four or five six years old. From Kp actually local station where they were the softball team was kicked out of the gay league because they weren't gay enough. Remember that clip?
3:21:34
Adam: would be would it be under softball
3:21:38
John: or gay? It's something I don't remember. It's a very funny clip. Okay.
3:21:44
Adam: There's not that much under gay here. Only 8000 pages Ah, would have been cape which station would have been this KPI x KPI x maybe it was listed under that No, I don't think I can find it nice. I
3:22:01
John: can find it
3:22:01
Adam: as too bad. But yeah,
3:22:06
John: I got a couple of things. We can do the tick tock tick tock hit peace. Yeah, that I thought was I also
3:22:13
Adam: have a Michael avenatti supercut of the media fawning over him now that he's been sentenced to two years let's
3:22:20
John: do both. Okay.
3:22:23
Adam: Which one you want yours first, or the Super dadgum.
3:22:25
John: Life first now finished with that way can be attentive.
3:22:28
Unknown: tick. Tock insiders reportedly told CNBC, the popular social media app is tightly controlled by its Chinese parent company. And that includes access to its us users data. Some cyber security experts say this could effectively end up feeding the Chinese regime, whose approach to intelligence includes the collection of vast amounts of data, a recruiter
3:22:53
John: or other former employees, right? I'm gonna see you mean like hacking 18,000 networks, or something like that? Looks to intelligence includes the collection of vast amounts of data.
3:23:06
Unknown: a recruiter along with four other former employees told CNBC they're concerned that tic tocs Chinese parent company bytedance has access to American user data and is closely involved in tic tocs product development and decision making. They told the outlet there are almost no boundaries between the two companies. A cybersecurity expert James Lewis says he is not surprised by the report. He says there is no respect for the rule of law or human rights in China, because Tick Tock is so popular, popular, has immense amounts of data on its users. And there's a concern that that data could be shared with the Chinese government for intelligence or surveillance purposes. tik tok is a popular social app based in Los Angeles. It was launched internationally in 2017 bite bite dance. Now it has 100 million monthly users in the US, most of them teens and young adults. tic tocs former employees told CNBC when an American employee tried to get a list of global Tick Tock users, including Americans with some specific features. They had to reach out to a data team in China for access. The China team could pull up all the information Tick Tock had about those users with their specific IDs. The sources said this is common practice at Tick tock, huh? Well, I have some thoughts.
3:24:28
Adam: First of all, tic tocs algorithm is the best in the business. It is I agree. I mean, if you're if you're interested in my favorite is the the clothes change. I love I keep telling Tina, I want to do one of those. It's a lot of edit. I don't know how to do it. I'm not a tech talker. I'm a podcaster. Dammit, not a tick talker. So it's really really good. And if you if you'd like a You get to just cake stuff if it really knows what you want and the advertising is, is the algorithm is just so incredibly good. I also think that this may be a part of a discredit tation program that we'll see ongoing as it's really hurting Instagram. All the hip hoppers are leaving Instagram not leaving, but they're really posting on tik tok. That's where music is being broken these days, not on the radio. No, it's on Tick Tock. And they bought, you know, they did the whole same thing that the whole, like the whole catalog, they know how to know how to do it. It's really good. And in addition to that, I don't know if you know this. But since Apple's new iOS release, advertising is now shifting to Android because they just can't get the data anymore. This is really new.
3:25:54
John: Explain.
3:25:56
Adam: Apple now forces people to acknowledge and opt in if they want to share information, ie tracking data from apps they use on the iPhone. And most people don't like that. So it's no. And now the data is drying up particularly hurting Facebook, Instagram, they've got troubles now. And the ad buyers, since they can read, they can get a lot of extra data, or all the data they're used to from the leaky as Google managed Android. They're just shifting their money over there. And I don't know I think there's big, big changes ahead. So Tick Tock may play a role in that. I'm not sure if they've got a lot of data. So what is that? Either we're discrediting them to get rid of them, or we want them I'm not sure.
3:26:48
John: We'll find out soon enough.
3:26:50
Adam: What I did realize and I didn't know this. Apple actually has an advertising network. And they are now going to going to give an Domaine was on their on their apps, like their news app and their weather app. And that's where they sell ads. I didn't know that. And they have they now have they give their buyers extra information that you can't get with any of the other systems, which some are calling a, you know, a problem. I think that they're probably really smart. You know, it's like we do a bi on on Apple, you find out who it is, or at least some identifiers. And you do a small little test by so you know, it works. And then you just take all the rest of your money over to Android and deploy exactly what you learned. I think that's the way to go.
3:27:44
John: is kicking the tires and then buying online. Yeah.
3:27:48
Adam: All right. Michael avenatti. This is now Oh, my goodness, how many years ago to see on the scene about four. I'd say when the Russian collusion started, actually it was before Russian collusion. It was the stormy Daniels. It wasn't me, Daniel, it was. Yeah, this, you know, and he was, I believe in the span of a few weeks, he appeared on cable news channels 157 times. Yeah, they
3:28:14
John: were. They were talking on msnbc about getting him to run for president. So this is a super
3:28:20
Adam: cut. It's been going around but not everyone sees these things of the mainstream media, in particular, MSNBC, other NBC related services and CNN, just drooling over him earlier this week. He was he's already been in in custody for a while. I think he was sent to jail for extorting Nike, very much like he ripped off like allegedly he ripped off other clients, including stormy Daniels and it's just a sleazeball. He's asleep. Everybody knew it. Except for the mainstream because he was going after Donald Trump. He was hero of the stupid is Donald Trump's worst nightmare. Mike.
3:29:05
Unknown: Once again is Michael avenatti. Michael avenatti. Clever naughty Michael avenatti. Michael avenatti. Thank you very much. He's out there saving the country. God Meacham says he may be the savior of the Republic. If you are something of a folk hero. Now I owe Michael avenatti an apology. I've been saying Enough already. Michael, I've seen you everywhere. What do you love to say? I was wrong. Brother. You have a lot to say. I am just dying to hear what you think people like you. And the only person right here. Donald Trump fears more than Robert Miller.
3:29:34
Adam: We think you guys are the tip of the spear that's going to take down Donald Trump. Michael avenatti is a beast. You okay, that's true. And he's a beast. He's a beast. He has a great bigger calling here that being a lawyer is minimal compared to what he's doing.
3:29:51
Unknown: No one has talked tougher directly to Donald Trump on TV than Michael avenatti and Donald Trump is afraid to mention his name. That's fascinating. Donald Trump is terrified of Michael avenatti. The Trump a run for his money. Anybody else Michael avenatti an existential threat to the Trump presidency. The Democrats could learn something for you. You are messing with Trump a lot more than they are. He
3:30:14
has no doubt created sheer panic. And Donald Trump's very fragile mind Michael avenatti
3:30:20
is laying down the law as guest co hosts really thinking about running for president
3:30:27
or one reason why I'm taking you seriously as a contender is because of your presence on cable news. You look at the field of Democrats right now and avenatti is the one who stands out if they decide they value a fighter most people would be foolish to underestimate Michael avenatti Yeah,
3:30:44
Adam: go ahead believe everything they say. They're so right these people
3:30:48
John: right. Pretty much says it all.
3:30:53
Adam: And that wraps up our deconstruction for today's episode 1363 Happy Birthday Jay Happy Birthday to the love of my life. 3:36:21
Unfortunately for Americans, the Biden administration views high gas prices as a feature
3:36:27
John: not a bug.
3:36:28
Unknown: One targeted community by community door to door outreach to get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring they have the information they need on how both safe and accessible the vaccine is. Back places get a shot. When you guys walk up to doors. Somebody says
3:36:45
What do you tell them? We say, Well, this is your lucky day, because we're going to sign you up for a vaccine. Not sure if such a program actually exists,
3:36:54
or President Biden was confused. There are proposals to severely restrict the Freedom, freedom of movement
3:37:02
Adam: for people who aren't vaccinated,
3:37:05
Unknown: but now all of a sudden he says and by the way, we're gonna send grassroots low level government workers to your house. And while some people may see this as a public education, push, which is always a good thing, the more education the better. Other people may see this as confrontational. You can mimic individual rights to protect public health. And one way you can do it in that case is require vaccination, or text. your zip code 2438829 government has no database to track
